Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Finally got an exchange on mine, and it basically has all the same issues. Such a shame. Largest disappointment on a major release I can remember. Not at all the quality I've come to expect from Diamond Select.

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

I'm thinking their display piece was a different material, something more rigid than the vinyl used in production. It's been on display since 2016 without having a collapsed chest. Clearly, every photo of production pieces I've seen has the same concavity to the chest area that is not on the display...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Yep, I of course had this ordered ages ago like everyone else and when it arrived, it was a mess. Chest pushed in and rippled vinyl on the face like Ricks. I contacted them and they went back to the vendor and Diamond claimed it was part of the design! Bah, humbug! It's obvious that some lucky peop...

Re: Matty Cowl Costume Matches

The cowl, briefs, and gloves of the original costumes were all made of a stretch satin material, while the cape is not stretch fabric, just regular woven satin. Matching colors is one of the hardest parts of the process. If you are serious about matching, I suggest you do not order fabric online - u...

Re: Batgirl costume build

How big/old is your daughter? Ideally, the belt will be scaled to her size, not necessarily Yvonne's - unless she is an adult. Here's what I can tell you from my research - and this is just estimates based on making photos true to scale as much as possible... The vintage fishscale belts that Batgirl...

Well, there you can see - no cheek indent. It is obviously a quality control issue. A.P., yours looks super!

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Corrective note- the good news is your right cheek isn't dented, it's supposed to be that way- I just looked over my WB bust (which has a "dimple" on the right cheek) and it looks like they copied that instead of the original from the show. :) Not according to the product photos the manuf...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Well, it arrived today. Met with a mix of glee and disappointment. Pros: It is finally here! Thick casting. Surprisingly heavy. Neck hinge seems quite sturdy. Paint finish is nice, contrast airbrushing is pretty well executed. Cons: Is it really 1:1 with the screen used? It seems small. I'm not sure...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Just received shipping confirmation from Toy Wiz today. Should have it in hand soon. Glad I ordered it when I did - they DID have it on sale, and I had a discount code, too - now it's back up to full price.

I have looked forward to having this for a long time. Finally, there is an end in sight!

Re: Adam West's Cowl at the Smithsonian

The Smithsonian allows for quite a bit of latitude in terms of authenticity. For example, almost NONE of the Muppets in their collection were ever really screen used. Most were "posers" - not functional puppets at all, but rather posable dummies created for using in publicity photos. As fo...

Re: Adam has died

Not curious. Along with Ralph, they probably knew him better than anyone else here. They knew him as a childhood hero, a co-worker, and a friend. It takes time to process such a heavy loss. And grief doesn't have to be public. They will post in their own time, if they feel so inclined. I wish all of...
