Re: Batman at the Boxoffice

Those are lobby cards for theaters, yes? If so, they would not be for sale to the public and in theory used for exhibition purposes only (many from that era will even have instructions printed on them to either return them to the issuer or destroy them so they would not be resold). I can't remember...

Re: Words not meant to be funny but make you laugh anyway...

I do love when characters say "Lulu Schultz?" to Lola Lasagne. Also the horse being named Waynebeau. Well, I guess these words were *meant* to make us laugh, but these King Tut lines, all in "Batman's Waterloo", are belly ticklers: "When we get to the Royal Oil Boiling Room,...

Re: What was a good age to start watching Batman?

I remember watching the premiere on a Sunday night prime time, Down Under, with my whole family. We lived in a house with our grandparents - and my grandmother owned the b/w TV - so watching TV in my grandparents' lounge room required excellent manners. Sunday night family viewing was quite traditio...

Re: Parodied Names in the '66 series

Hilarious! Until I added asterisks to my quote about, the board's software rendered the sentence as "... which in Arabic means 'son of a ***Censored: find another word that suggests good manners***'."

Re: Parodied Names in the '66 series

There was Pat Pendi he's valet Rudy. Rudy Valley As explained higher up in the thread (by Bill S.C. ), Stanley Ralph Ross had some fun in the episode "That Darn Catwoman": The inventor was Pat Pending (ie. "patent pending", a joke name we saw used again in "The Wacky Races&...

Re: FTC Catwoman! - Catwomen.

Would have been the trifecta had they also done one for Lee Meriweather... I think she'll be an easy adaptation. I plan to recycle my Newmar custom and already have a mask for her (after my agonising paint job to get Julie's eyebrows onto a Dorothy Gale head). https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8508/290...

Re: Parodied Names in the '66 series

No one has mentioned Spiffany's Jewelry store, robbed by Dr Cassandra. (ie. Tiffany's). Cabala would suggest "magic", as in "The Cabala is not new. It’s been around for centuries. The Cabala is actually ancient magic. It is an exotic blend of devilish, sometimes fanciful, New Age myst...

Re: In today's Monsters in Motion Email: Penguin sub model kit

Where is the Bat logo on the sub? I see only the penguin motif.

The Batman logo is not attached to the sub. It just brings up all the other Batman stuff when you do a product search. If they didn't link the sub to the "Batman" descriptor, no one would find it.

Re: How did the Bat-Poles/Automatic Bat-Costume Changer work???

I accepted quite happily when the costume change was interrupted by the first commercial break. But then they started playing with our minds. And Batgirl's auto change button was mind boggling. Maybe she had holographic technology? Clever librarian!
