Re: 1977 Batman Wrist Shooting Grappling Hook Toy

I had the Spider-man one back around 1975. Never saw the Batman one before. The Spidey one even had a TV commercial for it. Oh...you reminded me of something else. Around ‘77, the Sears catalog had an RC Batmobile and RC Spider-Man car. I got the Batmobile, my brother got the Spider-car. Mine worke...

Re: 1977 Batman Wrist Shooting Grappling Hook Toy

Found the Spidey commercial http://youtu.be/DQN134L_fzc Whoah! Cool find! Maybe I was a little harsh. When I was 12, I was a little disappointed. However, I noted it was made by AHI I think that’s Azrak Hamway International, which is related to Mego. I am a huge Mego fan, Action Jackson fan, and Wo...

It is hilarious what a P.O.S. the thing was...now I need to find one, for no explicable reason!

Re: 1977 Batman Wrist Shooting Grappling Hook Toy

Ok, I found some adverts but no photo of the actual piece of junk toy. At least I found proof of its existence!

1977 Batman Wrist Shooting Grappling Hook Toy

Back around 1977, I recall an ad for a Batman toy I’ve never seen or heard mentioned since. I think it was advertised in this issue: https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Batman_Vol_1_290 . If it wasn’t that issue, it was the one before or after. The ad art looked amazing! Batman had this blue device on his wr...

Re: Batman 1989 on the Big Screen!

Batman ‘89 had a new sound mix? I noticed the gunfire was much improved, that’s it. I’ve been thinking about the movie all week. Parents brought their kids and it’s not really a kid movie. I wasn’t a fan of the new sound mix. Sure the original mix used the sound of Dirty Harry’s Magnum many times, ...

Re: Batman 1989 on the Big Screen!

Always a pleasure to see these films again on the big screen, despite Batman ‘89 getting a new sound mix that changed most of the sound effects. I do agree that the Batman ‘66 feature film needs a rerelease soon. Batman ‘89 had a new sound mix? I noticed the gunfire was much improved, that’s it. I’...

Batman 1989 on the Big Screen!

My wife and I just saw Batman 1989 at the movie theater! Wow...It really is a different experience on the big screen. 30 years ago, she and I saw it when it first came out. That movie is responsible for the whole wave of batmania in ‘89. It brought the TV show back to the TV set and the serials to W...

Re: Diecast (Hot Wheels, Corgi, Matchbox, etc.) appreciation thread

Fun videos Frenchy. Love it that The Real Batmobile wins in the first video. :-) Yes, I knew you guys would like that! Well, I can add this excellent Corgi Juniors Batmobile to my Bat-arsenal! I remember it as a kid. Here’s a little comparison to the Hot Wheels version (slightly flawed - note the f...

Re: Diecast (Hot Wheels, Corgi, Matchbox, etc.) appreciation thread

That’s it exactly! The toys captured the spirit of the Batman TV show and comics! I had that car as a kid. (Thanks Mom and Dad!) What I really want to do now is buy some Hot Wheels tracks, send it down and watch it in action, ha ha! I’m almost certain I raced mine as a kid. Corgi cars, Matchbox, all...

Re: Diecast (Hot Wheels, Corgi, Matchbox, etc.) appreciation thread

With all the beautiful Batmobiles posted on this diecast thread, I just took leave of my senses....I went out to eBay and bought a Corgi Juniors Batmobile!

I look forward to a side by side comparison with the Hot Wheels 1:64 Batmobile.

Wow! I thought I was the only one who wondered about that! Yeah, I remember pausing it and realizing, yes, it’s one of the red labels from the Batmobile dashboard. You can almost read what it is...

Re: Post Here Whenever You're Watching Batman

Exactly 3 years ago, I watched my entire blu ray Batman set over the course of 3 months. Now, I am rewatching the whole series a few episodes a night. It’s because after the commute to work, and the daily grind, this show makes everything a little better! The only episode I fast forwarded through wa...

Re: Anybody restore a Corgi 267 Batmobile?

A little touch up and you are good to go. True! I can tell a little about the Batmobile from it’s condition. It looks like “little Timmy”, who is probably in his mid fifties now like me, pushed it across the room and smacked it into the wall or some Hot Wheels cars a few dozen times. The front of t...
