Re: GI Joe Bulletman
The Soldiers of the World line of GI Joes, taken from various foreign countries' fighting men of World War II, were my favorite group. After I received my Masters degree, I splurged and found a nice French Resistance fighter, like the one I had growing up in the 60's. The facial features are slightl...

Re: McFarlane NEW collector's line for collectors. Request 7 inch scale 1966 Batman
I'd deeply appreciate an Earth-Two Robin, with his Mike Sekowsky designed hybrid suit. If not for the popularity of the '66 tv series, I wonder if DC would have re-introduced the Golden Age Robin. I'd bet that the hybrid suit was designed to capitalize on the show's popularity and catch the eye of a...

Re: Corgi Batmobile reissue BIG NEWS
Right there with you, Andy!
On the topic of the Corgi figures, I think I played with those figures more than I did the actual Batmobile when I got the set back when I was five years old.

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
I get the whole "Batman in the city" schtick but some of his best stories were nowhere near a city. When Batman meets the vampiric Monk, it's in a remote Hungarian castle. And, "A Vow From the Grave" takes place in a lonely house outside the limits of Gotham. Hey, look! Batman's ...

Re: Looking for a Slurpee Cup Checklist?
7-11 needs to do a retro re-issue of these, like, yesterday already! And, the fact that they included Justice Society members made the DC cups even more cool.

At the current price, each would only be about 25 dollars...a steal for vintage Aurora kits.

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
Another option for the chest emblem is to find a good resolution picture of the end credits and use the bat-signal image as your guide. This way you can bring some 1966 authenticity to the model and, oddly enough, both the sculpted kit emblem and the tv credits signal are pretty close. Again, you ca...

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
Jimmy, thin sheets of styrene plastic are available for modelers. You could get a fairly thin sheet, trace out the letters, use a nice, sharp Exacto knife and make your letters that way. If you look real closely at the tree trunk for your kit, you may be able to make out where the original lettering...

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
The story with the smaller base was that it was done so that most of the focus was on the figure of Batman. However, it was too small to accommodate the weight and leaning of the figure and that made the model tip over too easily so a longer base was added.

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
So, this isn't for your Batman model, Jimmy, but it's a great resource to see how one modeler updated the Robin kit. An incredible amount of work went into the rebuild and there's also a section on how he restored the Aurora Batman and Penguin kits. You'll find these at the end of the Robin section,...

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?
The head for both Batman and Superman's release in the 80's was to make them look more like the action figures for the recently released Super Powers toy line. Batman's redesign wasn't bad but the new sculpt for Superman is an abomination, looking like they were going more for Bizarro than the Man o...

Re: Batcopter kit
The last I ever heard about T and T was way back in the 90’s. I started kitbashing that MASH copter into the Batcopter way back in my single days and is somewhere in my basement, waiting to be finished. Those curved resin wings are more accurate than my flat ones.

Re: 1943 Batman artwork
Batman's cowl appears to be made of two parts in the artwork: a separate wrap-around, including the nosepiece, eye openings and the bat ears and a separate covering, going over his forehead and hair. I also like how he smooths out Croft's hair and adds the spit curl to Robin.
