Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes

As promised, here's what the Rubies Grand Heritage Batgirl costume looks like on a mannequin. smallbatgirl1.jpg This costume is a size small. The mannequin is a typically unrealistic, idealized female, about 5' 6", with a 34" bust and hips, with a very small waist. As you can see, there's ...

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes

Got my replacement Batgirl costume today. Hooray - both a right and a left glove! And the velcro isn't all stuck to the inside of the cowl. So, I think I'm finally good to go. This is just for display. Looks like it's gonna be a while before I get time to put it on the mannequin, but when I do, I'll...

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes

Oh, I thought you exchanged yours and got that taken care of. I re-read your posts, and saw that is not the case.

Well, if it happens to me again, I will let you know! I'm sort of hoping it's all okay this next time!

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes

Well, I received my Batgirl costume yesterday, and it has to go right back for exchanging, also. The male part of the velcro that fastens the cowl together under the hair was turned back and stuck to the inside of the face mask, so trying to disengage it shredded the (incredibly cheap and delicate) ...

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes

Wow, great find on the purple boots! This costume looks so much better than I think we were expecting around here. Did you exchange it for the same size?? I guess typical Rubies quality control would account for the size discrepancies... Glad it worked out for you this time! Thanks for sharing! RRR

Re: Batman 66 Halloween costumes

Thanks for posting pix. Yes, I'd say your hair is perfect as is! Good lord, do the legs really come past your heel, or are they stirrups?? I'm pleasantly surprised by the overall look. Better than I expected, and MUCH better than what we've seen of the Batman. Thanks again for the preview. Hope your...

Re: Finally got around to this!

I could not know less about fiberglass.

Is the mat non-woven, like felt, and the cloth IS woven? Is one harder to work with than the other?

Seeing the helmet liner mounted is exciting! You must feel a real sense of completion!

Awesome as always!

Re: Cowl face paint

Well, I have poor skills with a brush, so I like the pens better, but only the really fine ones. I think I'd be satisfied with the color of and use the DecoFabric marker if it weren't so thick. I like the Montana paint markers quite a lot - the coverage is good, and they come in extremely fine point...

Re: Cowl face paint

Here are the results of my experiments so far. The top black is three layers of Jacquard Neopaque black textile paint unaltered. The bottom black is one layer of the same paint with talc mixed in to matte it up, which was pretty successful. The various blue lines are all paint markers. The very grey...

Re: Cowl face paint

Nature abhors a vacuum, and so do I! No responses? Well, I took a blind stab at using Jacquard Neopaque textile paint on some spare jumbo spandex stretched over a ball. It requires multiple coats to cover up the texture of the fabric, and has a slight sheen to it. But it blends well, didn't leave re...

Cowl face paint

Sorry if this seems like an old topic, folks, but I searched through the old archived forum, as well as this one, with no concrete success. MANY old posts on the archived site were deleted, so there are gaps in the information contained in the famous "NEED BATCOWL INFO PLEASE" thread. Any ...

Re: tights for big guys???

I recently bought that unitard from Rivers Edge Dancewear as an alternative to the Onstage stuff. Here are my observations. I am 6' 2" and slim (42 chest, 34 waist) and bought the 3x. The fit is a bit generous for me - they ARE supposed to be skin tight, after all. I probably would have been go...

Re: Fun in the shop...

Chuck,

Please pardon me for taking the liberty of labeling some of the more important items in your photo of your shop, as an aid to those readers unfamiliar with some of the equipment required by a professional artist of your caliber.

You're welcome.

Re: Fun in the shop...

Wow, that's the neatest shop I have ever seen! So organized! And the custom made dust control tube is AWESOME! I am stealing that idea somehow.

Do you sculpt here, too? I see no clay or scupting tools...

Thanks so much for sharing!
