And to add to that timeline, 1982: Rebecca Holden from "Knight RIder"!
Plus, if there'd been a Batman and an Ivy in 1955, Amanda Blake of "Gunsmoke" would have been perfect.

Re: Who would you pick to play Poison Ivy?
In 1967, Barbara was still a total unknown getting her first TV guest shots in a couple Universal shows. The next year she got her first major break in the Don Knotts comedy and had another high profile role in one other movie that year so that come 69 or 70 she would have had just enough previous v...

Re: Original Wail of the Siren concept/story outline
It is a more fascinating concept to show Siren more in the mode of the Sirens of antiquity and to also offer a Siren you can almost envision as a more otherworldly persona without a conventional alter ego. But then, SRR showing his usual inconsistency, undermines that aura by giving Siren an off-key...

Re: First draft of Nora Clavicle script
This episode has always rated as the nadir of the entire TV series, and the first draft isn't much better. Maybe the fact there's a bigger motive of Nora's that helps but the episode still can't overcome the aura of sheer.....well dumbness is the only word I can think of. I think maybe the big probl...

Re: Should Adam West have been on the original The Twilight
I think the series Adam was in previously, "The Detectives" aired in the timeslot opposite "Twilight Zone" which would have automatically prevented him from taking part in the series at some point in its run.

Barbara's daughter, Claudia Cowan, has been a Fox News reporter for many years. If you ever see her, you can easily see she has her mother's face.

Re: Sociopolitical Subtext in "Catwoman's Dressed to Kill"
It's an interesing theory, provided we take into account the fact that the dialogue was already written before Eartha was cast, since the script was originally intended for Julie (especially the line about submitting to Batman's "muscular custody"). That's not to say Eartha couldn't give i...

GSN formerly known as Game Show Network. It's been rare in the last few years for them to show the vintage B/W game shows, so it's nice to know they're doing that again.

Re: Best molls?
Nancy Kovack's Queenie was IMO the one who deserved more screen time and attention than she got. Kovack also IMO had bona fide villainess potential but they wasted her in a total window dressing part.

Re: Story Hole
In Episode 74-75 '' That Darn Catwoman / Scat ! Darn Catwoman '', Catwoman is supposed to be dead after falling into the West River or something like that but in her next pair of episodes ( Episode 83-84 '' Catwoman Goes to College / Batman Displays his Knowledge '' ), she is in Prison. Hmmmm, why ...

Re: USA Today rates Batgirl among TV's worst characters ever
The concept of Batgirl, I like. The performance and execution of the character, I don't. A few years ago at the old board, I started a thread where I made the case against Yvonne Craig as the ideal choice for the role and instead argued that Mary Ann Mobley, who was also under consideration at the t...

Re: Least and Most Prolific Moll?
I think the best way to judge something like this, is did they become more famous or get to do much better things after their time as a Bat moll, or was being a Bat moll just the latest in a line of being a "journeyman" performer. Gore and Jill St. John were in the "famous already&quo...

Re: Least and Most Prolific Moll?
In terms of moll with most productive post-Batman credits, I'd give the award to Julie Gregg with a Tony nomination on Broadway in the musical "The Happy Time", a role in "The Godfather" and graduating to tougher dramatic TV guest shots. (Jill St. John had even more impressive cr...
