Re: SCRIPT: "The Thirteenth Hat"

(Really surprised High C didn't beat me to the comments??) I hadn't seen it! Thanks, sirs, for making this available. It is fascinating to see the show in its formative stages, and a script by the eventual script editor being edited. The reference to 'our campy dialogue' makes me think this i...

Thanks for the heads-up. I have much to say about the annotated version, especially the reference to 'our campy dialogue.' Hmmmm.

Re: Batman’s TV Sweepstakes

I've heard that on Oct. 27, Burt gave a free trip to the Culver Studios Infirmary. Can anyone confirm?

'Ya gotta understand...'

Honestly, great find, Batmite.

Re: Bat Locations - "Smack in the Middle" Burning Car Scene

Scott, great job narrating the BTS footage. I suppose that lane was closed so that they could shoot the scene?

I'm trying to remember--isn't there an establishing shot for an ep in which the Batmobile is going someplace and those curved hotel towers are in the background? Does anyone recall that?

Re: Did anyone find The First Season of Batman to be not so camp

I think the key, as Scott once pointed out in one of our Video Bat-Chat rewatches, was that the tone changed during the season once the show got on the air and there was feedback from reviews, word of mouth, Dozier's Hollywood cronies, etc. I think that's when the camp gets amped. As I've noted, thi...

Sirs, Glad to hear you guys are so big in Cypress! Keep up the good work. 8-) Begorrrah! I definitely could use some GC Cola as a thirst quencher! As for the rest of the ep, good catch on the talent agency repping Cannan and Cash. It really starkly shows how much of a void Semple's diminishing parti...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #173: Batman ’65: Developing the Idea

I guess the 1960s really was the era of the 'four Bs'--Bond, The Beatles, Batman and Bonanza! ;) Seriously, it shows how quickly tastes were changing. Yes, Bonanza lasted into the 1970s, but westerns soon were an endangered species on TV. Even The Virginian! (Which featured 8 Bat-henchwomen and 5 vi...

Re: SCRIPT: "Marsha, Queen of Diamonds" by Stanford Sherman

I have a lot to say about this script, as you all can see. I apologize in advance for the length of this. Of course, all that was retained from the original was the character name, her love of diamonds, and a mind-control aspect. First of all, the main improvement, and it's a huge one, is that Batma...
