Re: What if a singer had played Siren?
Another thing I forgot to add, is that Collins was helped with a very good story, something that was rare in season 3. Although I agree that I can't see Joan Collins playing Catwoman, most of us agree, she played the roll as a season 1 character, a better switch around would have been to have had Jo...

Re: What if a singer had played Siren?
I was thinking the same thing about Eartha, that she could've alternately played Siren as well. Joan Collins and Eartha Kitt and Victor Bouno were the only signs to 3rd season life, I thought Burgess, Romero and Gorshin fell very short of their talents in season 3.
Re: Hung up
OK, Now for the next question...How often was it called the hotline?(on the series of course) Was there some progression? like in the early episodes it was the Hotline, and in the later eps it was the redphone, I think Alfred refers to the phone as the batphone in the pilot episode. My memory fails ...
Hung up
In the series, they would refer to the "phone" as the red phone, the bat phone or the hotline. What's the proper name(if there is one)?

Re: What you found odd about the show but now understand
When I was a kid watching the show, I never understood how earlier shows had the fight words in the batfights were written out on the screen(you could see the fight word with out leaving the scene), but the episodes from season 2 were like they were on flashcards(this bugged me, because the fight sc...

Re: Which Villain was The Highest Paid?
Burgess Meridith, played in more episodes than any other actor, I'll even go on to say I think TPTB invested a lot in the Penguin character, which is why he played more episodes.

Enter Batgirl
Season 3 was plagued by several problems, Budget cuts, poor writing, going from an hour to a half hour show. I wouldn't necessarily blame Batgirl as the sole reason for the shows decline. I might be in the minority but I actually liked the Batgirl character. Batgirl could've been brought in the seri...

Re: What if a singer had played Siren?
My choice for alternate actress to play Siren might be "June Carte Cash"(why does Siren have to be of British decent). My other choice might be "Julie Andrews"

Re: Newmar: Joan Collins played it too straight
I was a big tv guide collector in the much through the 70's and early 80's.I had old issues with listings from both the Buffalo and Philadelphia(My parents lived in Buffalo N.Y. but I went to boarding school during my high school years in Philadelphia...this was 77 thru 82). I swear that looks like ...

Re: Just 2 seasons of Batman
I was also considering episode rotation, as far as Catwoman's second episode. For some reason I was thinking of this episode being followed up by "Enter Batgirl, exit Penguin" because at the end of Catwoman's 2nd episode we see the duo in the commissioner's office, and at the beginning of ...

Just 2 seasons of Batman
We know season 1 was serious in tone, more comic book like, and season 2's campiness paved the way to season 3's silliness and horrible sets. If you could fit Batman66 into two categories, serious and over the top silly...lets examine season 2 episodes. Archer- season 3 Minstrel- season 1 Clock king...

Re: Newmar: Joan Collins played it too straight
Was going through last week's Bat-press conference (thanks to BatmanBuddy2012 for the YouTube link) and found something interesting at 34:54. The audio is a bit muffled, but here's what I could glean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g117J8tBFGY&feature=youtu.be Adam, Burt and Julie were asked if...

Re: Batman Copycats
There are other copy-cats(parodies) to consider, "George of the jungle'" was a parody of Tarzan. Quick Draw Magraw was a take off of Zorro. Dudley do-right was a take off of the Lone ranger. This is a bit of a stretch, but the idea of the Flinstones(I read some where)was taken from the Hon...

Re: TV Broadcasts
At least Batman 's aired uncut and complete on MeTV! And IFC! :) This is exactly what's misleading, what's been broadcasted since 89 is a reprised(made to fit commercial time) version, that was further edited. Now what we've seen lately on "Broadcast TV" is the full reprised version(still...

Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!
I'm one of those sceptical types so don't hold it against me when I say I can't party until I'm sure of what I'm getting. I've been burned before. I'm hoping WB's idea of uncut is what the rest of us mean. It's all conjecture until the release date and someone watches the discs and gives us their f...
