Re: Eli Wallach R.I.P.
The loss of the third and last survivor of the Mr. Freeze actors, Eli Wallach, makes him the thirtieth Batvillain to leave us. :( And Then There Were Seven: Julie Newmar (Catwoman #1) Lee Meriwether (Catwoman #2) Joan Collins (The Siren) Zsa Zsa Gabor (Minerva) Glynis Johns (Lady Penelope Peasoup) ...

Re: Eli Wallach R.I.P.
Would be a nice gesture but it's not feasible. What if somebody else dies between the time the set is produced and when it goes on sale?marvelbloodhound wrote:They should have a segment about him and the rest that have passed in the boxed set...

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
I've never been impressed by Burton's Batman movies. They felt like freak shows for the villains, while Batman felt like a bland secondary character in his own movies. Plus 1,000,000 What Burton did to Penguin in the sequel was an abomination. I don't like Burton's movies. Puts everything into his ...

Re: Eli Wallach R.I.P.
Sad news. In his autobiography, he had a funny comparison of what he was paid to play Mr. Freeze in 1967 and what Arnold Schwarzenegger was paid 30 years later. Wallach wrote incorrectly that he was paid $300 (it was actually the standard $3500) but it still was a very humorous passage as he talked ...

Re: Has MeTV cut anything besides Lesley Gore's 2nd song?
TV Land Canada was showing uncut episodes as they were from the original airings. Nothing more. This is not, repeat, not a case of them showing stuff that was never shown in the original ABC airings. The only thing missing content wise is Lesley Gore's second song, which was clearly a publishing ri...

Re: Wail Of The Siren/Ring Around The Riddler
Interesting question from the OP. Oddly enough, Siren is in the original outline for Ring Around the Riddler. My best guess is that because it still was early in the season--Ring and Wail were the 7th and 8th episodes that were filmed--the producers were experimenting with ways to link the eps to ea...

Re: Spot the blooper
My favorite, which I've mentioned in the previous incarnation of this board, occurred in part 2 of the John Astin Riddler episode. When Batman and Robin break into Riddler's hideout and the camera shows a 'two shot' of Riddler and Anna Gram (Deanna Lund), she is wearing earrings. They cut back the n...

Interesting stuff. It's fun to look at the show in the context of the time and what it was up against on other networks.

Re: In what order will you watch the episodes on DVD?
I intend to watch Joan Collins' two episodes first, then my plan is to watch season 1. I intend to watch it in production order, as opposed to airdate order. I'm interested to see how the series progressed as they actually were writing and shooting it.

Happy Birthday to The Siren!
Joan Collins, the one and only Lorelei Circe, The Siren, is 81 today. Happy birthday to this ageless actress! Here is a story on her recent visit to the Cannes Film Festival, along with plenty of photos: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2631995/Joan-Collins-wows-floral-dress-film-premier...

Re: Marsha Queen Of Diamonds
The marraige cliffhanger is perhaps the most unique in the series and might have made even more sense if Zsa Zsa Gabor or Elizabeth Taylor had won the part. <snip> PS: I doubt Elizabeth Tayor is a realistic choice for the Queen of Diamonds. <shrug> Good point that the marriage cliffhanger may have ...

Re: Marsha Queen Of Diamonds
Holy Bat-Qualifiers! It's been a while since I've seen these episodes but I'll venture forth nonetheless. I quite enjoy this story, particularly the first part through to sometime after Batman gives his encouraging speech to Robin after rescuing the Boy Wonder from Marsha's cage. I suppose I even l...
