Re: Photos of Bat Girl costume for projected 1940's Bat Man Movie serial

I love both serials, but never felt Batman was really a "patriotic" hero. :) The covers of Batman #12, 13, 15, 17, 18 and 30, Detective Comics #58, 78 & 101 firmly placed the Dynamic Duo in the position of being either spokespeople or participants for America's WW2 cause, so the story...

Worse than that, he did not have a shield. Come on! repaint a prop house "ancient civilization" shield and there you have it! A cheap solution but...sigh...the serial missed out on so much.

Re: Batman reference on the Secret of the Sally Bell

Yes. "The Secret of the Sally Bell" (aired 12/9/66) was at a period where both series referenced the other as TV series (even after the typically 4th wall-breaking window cameo from September of that year).

Re: How did Burt Ward get to be Robin?

I'll be very interested to hear more about this. Never understood how he didn't know what role he was auditioning for when he went in at first. I've also been bothered how he tried to take credit for stunts that clearly used his stunt double. Glad to hear that Newmar called him out for an occasion ...

Re: How did Burt Ward get to be Robin?

But the anecdote about Bert (Gervis) was pretty much in line with the way BURT tells the story, Between that anecdote, the famous screen tests, and how Adam and others always talked about Burt's approach & enthusiasm, that is a good collection of reasons why he landed the role of Robin. Dozier ...

Re: George Barris 1925- 2015 R.I.P.

I'll sing the "Amen" to You all. As a teenager, I built a number of models of not only the Bat Mobile, but a number of others. We'll not see George's like again for a VERY long time !!!!!! R.I.P. Sad news. Regarding not seeing anyone like Barris for a long time, its more like a "neve...

Re: Joker Zodiac Crimes:

I certainly am not the younger generation, but I've embraced the cloud completely. I love having much of my DVD collection with me wherever I go-- and I can still access everything via my TV if I want to watch it old school. This is the first I've heard of Zodiac being a potential film, my understa...

Re: 1:18 Scale GH Black Beauty from AutoArt announced last year

Thanks for the pics, A. Pennyworth. Well, no matter how many changes and releases, there will never be accuracy of in-company (meaning Dozier-based products, not manufacturers) with scale. Disappointing.

Re: 1:18 Scale GH Black Beauty from AutoArt announced last year

Anyone know the dimensions of the real Black Beauty. I am curious about the 1:1 scale comparisons of the real cars. These 1/18 models look like a 300 sedan beside a Miata That's what I wondered sometime back... I'm so glad to see this. Hey, the scales are not really matching, but for a real world c...

Todd, that is excellent work! If Enterbay released that in a box set with their Kato, it would sell out in no time!

The likeness to Van Williams is near perfect!

Re: Bat Plane

Given the massive cost cutting in season 3 I don't see how they could have worked a plane into the budget. And then how do you work it into the scripts? Considering how cheap the criminal's hideouts were in season 3 (a few curtains for most of them), I can't see them building anything that looked l...

Re: Yvonne Craig - May 16, 1937 – August 17, 2015 :(

On ABC's nightly news, they actually took the time to (briefly) note Yvonne's death, which tends to be a rarity these days--even on those shows that focus on entertainment. Bravo ABC. Various NBC affiliates carried the news, too. Too bad the clips shot in the 80s of Adam, Burt, Yvonne and Julie (we...

Re: ME-TV to remember Yvonne Craig

ME-TV currently has broadcast rights to a number of series where Yvonne Craig was a guest. Aside from Star Trek , she was on other series that are/were part of the ME-TV schedule: The Mod Squad (mentioned earlier in this thread), Emergency!, My Three Sons, The Big Valley, The Man from U.N.C.L.E ., K...
