Re: TO THE BATPOLES #114: Putting "Clean Sweep" under the microscope
I can handle Batgirl showing up Robin though it is a bit extreme he doesn't recognize bacteria...! I think this is one of the rare Penguin episodes where he's not trying to run an "honest" game on Gotham. Too bad, uhm...hmm...Miss Clean wasn't given more to do. The bat-flyswatter scene doe...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #111: "The Wrong Earth" and "The Batman Radio Show"
But wait! Just wait a second old chum, in the first Joker episode he threatens to unmask them. Why was this allowed? Holy Inconsistency! Maybe because it was a spontaneous act by the Joker instead of an elaborate death-trap or captive situation. Or maybe it was early in the show's creation that thi...

The wrestling scene would've destroyed what was left of Batman's dignity. It could've happened to Robin or Batgirl or both but the Caped Crusader? Forget it. No, these episodes aren't good, though I can appreciate the complete surreal city backdrop and Batman having to coerce the last mouse into the...

Re: BAT 77 Episode #17 - Legends of Yesteryear
While it's near impossible to ignore the stupid end of the cowl looking awful on Batman, there is something good about the 77 specials. Batman beating up Solomon Grundy and getting to punch out the Riddler one last time in live action.

Re: Favorite Catwoman Actress?
JULIE. I've my issues with SRR's writing in the series but she's the purrfect standard against which all others are weighed. Slinky, sexy, funny, evil, conflicted...! I didn't like Lee at all, too cruel without the playful side. Eartha was just all right, passable, though she did have the perfect, a...

Holy Random Collection of Thoughts about to follow! I think Dozier gave a good response for the character. Having Molly pull Robin's mask off is like skipping dinner and eating the appetizer. What a let down for the Prince of Puzzlers. He really was fixated on the whole court unmasking, using the la...

Re: Script: THE SECRET OF THE IMPOSSIBLE CRIMES, by Leonard Stadd
It reminded me of a pair of chapters from the black & white Batman serials; and just like them I didn't care for it. Robin sitting in the chair wondering where Batman was while the Caped Crusader floats below also reminded me of the dumbed down Detective from the third series. I think the funera...

Another winner, guys. Big thank you to Oscar Lilley for his laboring over the Dozier papers. Facts go such a long way in shattering long-accepted myths, such as Burt Ward being the "big head"/headache of the series (if you believe anything Stanley Ralph Ross ever said on the matter.... No...

Yes; back then anything with footage of the show was incredible to find.Ben Bentley wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2019 1:41 pm Cool! Interesting that this doc finally made it to YouTube. There was a time when this was a trickier one to find!

John Astin as the Penguin.
To stop being facetious, I actually think he could do a good version. It would be interesting if nothing else.
Or maybe out of respect, no more Penguin the fourth season; bring in some new villains from the comics.

Quite the odyssey.
Funny!
