Re: "We've been here before": Bat-Locations in other Shows/Movies

VERY cool sleuthing. Enjoy those interesting details. That can’t be a coincidence. Somebody had to have known. Thanks! I defer to Scott, Ben and other experts but my guess would be that the exterior shot of the building was stock footage chosen for its depiction of a high-rise that looked worthy of...

This doesn't exactly meet Ben's prompt, but it doesn't seem worthy of a topic of its own. (Admins please feel free to move or spike if it's inappropriate.) Watching The Joker's Last Laugh for the zillionth time, I only just noticed that the exterior of Penthouse Publishing, the former comic book out...

Re: Mannix 1968....around the outside of Wayne Manor

This is great. It seems like the house was only ever used for exterior shots, but seeing the bad guy and his henchmen emerge from the front door is more use of the interior than we ever saw on Batman. Does anyone know if the scenes in the back of the house -- along the garden path and veranda -- are...

Re: 1966 Batmobile Batphone 1:1

I'm no expert, and unfortunately I don't have the means to provide a screenshot, but to my eyes the repro's base looks too round, rather like the Diamond Select coin bank version (which I have "installed" in my car). The Batmobile Batphone seen close-up in The Joker Goes to School has more...

I never noticed it before, but the Hollywood sign is definitely visible at 23:59 in The Curse of Tut (and again in The Pharaoh's in a Rut). Well spotted.

Re: Batman 13 March 1960

I think I remember reading somewhere that they got some of the storyline ideas from Batman comics. Many of the early episodes are lifted from comics. Though never acknowledged in the show credits, many of those comics sources are well documented. DC Comics even published a bunch of the source stori...

In "Not Yet He Ain't," Pengy called it the Birdmobile.

Re: Elton John at the Hollywood Bowl 1973

Here's a transcribed Rolling Stone review of the show, cribbed from the " Super Seventies Rocksite ": "Performance: Elton at the Hollywood Bowl, 9/7/73" By David Rensin The house lights dimmed and a lonely spot picked out a single figure onstage. "And now ladies and gentleme...

Re: SCRIPT: Nora Clavicle and the Ladies' Crime Club

Professional, capable women as important characters were very rare. We do see one early on with Zelda, but we have to go almost to the end of the series to see another one, and that is Nora Clavicle herself. I may have missed a few, but there just weren't many I'd suggest Barbara Gordon qualifies a...
