Re: Full screen version of movie

Then found this thread about the laser disc which seems to confirm it is 1.85:1 anamorphic:

https://www.avsforum.com/threads/batman ... tio.49855/
This thread is referring to the initial DVD release, not the LaserDisc.

Re: Full screen version

I know for sure the last VHS release of the film is open matte. I held on to it because the DVD release cropped off the United World Organization members’ country plaques, ruining the joke that they’re speaking different languages. I also wanted a 4X3 version to match the show. I just might have to ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #178: “Batman & Bill”: The Creatorship Controversy

While I was just as moved as you two were over the emotional aspects of this documentary gaining Bill Finger’s “with” credit below Bob Kane’s, there were a few aspects that I questioned after viewing. The filmmakers and Nobleman failed to acknowledge the material Finger stole from creating the chara...

Re: Not excited AT ALL about upcoming film "The Batman"

This new Batman film is appealing to me because it seems to be doing what we all wanted and expected after The Dark Knight, right down to The Riddler treated as a Zodiac Killer type of villain. The Dark Knight Rises was very underwhelming and ended the series way too soon. The success of Joker with ...

The potential R-rating was a draw for me, after the success of Joker. When I saw these toys, I was disappointed to see that wouldn’t be the case.

Sorry about the picture that I posted in my response to the Dick Tracy pilot didn’t appear when you saw it. I swear it was there when I posted it. Re: TO THE BATPOLES #168: “Dick Tracy” and “Wonder Woman”: The Dozierverse Stumbles

The Lon Chaney Jr. as Pruneface is highly likely to be non-associated with Dozier’s Dick Tracy pilot. Pictured below is a photo that features John Chambers with his makeup creations for not only Pruneface, but The Brow, Flattop and Mumbles, all in the style of the early 60’s UPA animated series and ...

Ooh if this is for a future episode of your show, I’d love to contribute. I’ve been researching the Dick Tracy pilot myself as part of my work ongoing research for the 1990 Warren Beatty Dick Tracy film.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #166: "Batman and Robin": Hot and "Kalt"

I hear too often this movie criticized by Batman fans who do not appreciate the 60’s show and it was refreshing to hear you two cite why a comparison between those two are hardly worth warranting. Something that I appreciate about the initial series of Batman films was that there was a better charac...

Re: Williams studio featured on 13th dimension

I’m of sound mind in saying that Batman’s cape and cowl was always supposed to be black, which led to me purchasing a black version of this cowl. This blue version is very well made and makes me wonder how sharp this would have looked if the show had progressed into the 70’s. The blue satin look nev...

What I wouldn’t give to have those in full color.

Speaking of Moth, anyone know if anyone’s ever done a cosplay of her? Wouldn’t be too hard to repurpose a Batgirl costume to do it.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #152: Defining the Riddler w/Wally Wingert

Great chat with Mr. Wingert. You fellows mentioned John Astin's "flexing while smelling the armpit" pose. I always thought he was making a question mark with his arm, am I the only one? That or he’s trying to emulate the “thinking man” statue pose. Maybe he just wanted to flex his arm mus...
