Birthday wishes on 19 October ...

Looks like we have some birthdays today:[list] [*]Shelby Grant, born Brenda Thompson, was born on this day in 1936 in Oklahoma. She appeared in the first Mr. Freeze episode on Batman. She left us in 2011. [*]Dan Tobin, who played Mr. Jay in the first Penguin episode, was born on this day in 1910, m...

Re: From Riddler to Clay face

These shows were likely filmed with an eye to how much the producers could cut costs, which might explain something regarding The Riddler being in the intro, but not in the series. Yes, there was a crackdown on violence in Saturday morning cartoons around 1969, which would explain the tone of the 1...

Re: Billy Loyd JR sad news

I am so very sorry to hear of the news, Billy Wayne. You and your family are in my prayers at this terrible time. I know first hand what it is to lose family members in this situation, because I went through this when my grandmother was murdered in January 1973. God Bless you and your family in thi...

Monday, 11 October 1965

Production of Batman began on this day, 47 years ago. The episodes were "Hi Diddle Riddle" and "Smack In The Middle," and were originally intended to air in the fall of 1966. This was not to be the case, given that ABC was experiencing a disastrous fall season, and the show was ...

I am so sorry to hear of the news. Despite some differences we had, he was very supportive of me. My prayers are with the Loyd family.

Re: Favorite Batmobile?

I am prejudiced here, and I will play Devil's Advocate, but my favourite live-action "Batmobile" would be the 1968 Ford Thunderbird used in Batman 1969.

Seriously, though I know the 1966 Batmobile has that special quality that holds up after almost 47 years!

Re: Youtoo has dropped Batman

In the case of YouToo TV, I would not feel too badly. I looked at its schedule, and they have increased the amount of paid advertising programs. That tells me right there that the channel is in deep financial trouble.

Re: Bat-Trivia

Here's an item I think not many are aware of. Jill St. John, who was in the Batman pilot was in the James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" as leading lady Tiffany Case. But she wasn't the only Batman alumni to appear in the film. Also present was Sid Haig, the "Royal Apothecary"...

Re: Filmation Batman - 1968

It may be worth a watch for me, as I never saw the series as a kid. I did not see a single episode until a couple of years ago. I thought the series had its fun, but stuck closer to the tone of the comic book than the 1966 series did.

I'd likely want to be a newspaper journalist, working for one of Gotham City's newspaper, or the traffic signal engineer.

Re: YouToo TV Switches Course Again

Maybe they're doing this since the hub took Batman off and was airing it at 11:30.It could be hub had good ratings with it at that time.I'm guessing hub dropped Batman because the contract mustve expired. That is likely the reason. Also, this is mid-September, when programming changes often take pl...

I'd be interested in doing Molly, if that is warranted. You seemed to have done a nice job with The Joker!
