Re: Is MeTV gonna celebrate the 50th anniversary?

ME-TV has to rotate their shows to keep it fresh. Batman has been played to death since the start of the Sci-Fi Saturday programming block.

Besides, the series is available for purchase, so watching washed out, badly edited versions is not the best way to watch the series.

Croft?? Nightwing? He was not even a good Robin. All wrong for the part.

Re: BLACK BEAUTY ????????????????????????

Perhaps a nod to Britt Reids great uncle, The Lone Ranger. His one horsepower rolling (or galloping) arsenal was named Silver. Black Beauty (a novel about a horse) was written in 1877 by Anna Sewell. The radio serial mentioned only a black sedan, the movie serials mentioned the Black Beauty. Since ...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

I so rarely say "good enough" in this wave of largely unimpressive Bat-66 merchandise, but the bust is good enough. he owner of the original is not scanning for mass production, so the Diamond version makes a good stand-in.

Re: ADAMS t,v appearances??

I remember his turn as Dr. Jekyll in a short vignette on "Night Gallery". That's season two's "With Apologies to Mr. Hyde," where Jekyll's hunchbacked assistant ( Night Gallery producer Jack Laird) puts so much vermouth in Jekyll's drink that he's transformed into Hyde, then ber...

Welcome to the board, Mark.

Any links to pics of the first TV Batcycle? I always preferred that one to the 2nd, more popular design.

Re: The Sensational Batboys! Batman Theme Album

Welcome to the board! I'm not sure about the album's production history, but it was widely available in the early 1970s, as my older brother had this album (and we played to no end), and it was also rented in libraries of the period. There's not much in the way of familiar (as in 1966 TV-based) cues...

Re: 50th Anniversary "Smack in the Middle"

Thanks for the caps, Scott.

Sort of reminds me of the volume of images used for the Bantam Star Trek photonovels from 1977. If Batman photonovels were published back then (with this image quality), my parents would have needed wild horses to pull me away from each book!

Re: 50 years to the day

Just saying "50 years" seems like more than a lifetime ago. Its still a vibrant series that has not aged as much as other shows from that or even later years. Just think, along with Batman (and The Green Hornet come this September), all of those little bits of 1966 merchandising also hit t...

Re: Fine Finny Fiends: Oh, the sexism!

All three of the S1 Penguin storylines have a tinge of sexism attached to them: 1: Dawn Robbins, the starlet who's so enraptured by Batman that she pushes away every other guy. Being attracted to one man while ignoring others is not a sexist portrayal. It happens. Its not uncommon for anyone to see...

Re: Why didn't Julie appear in season 3?

Taking it further still-- it's a shame they didn't bring in Lee for Season Three. I know she was doing THE TIME TUNNEL nearby but honestly I think she's as good as Julie was. I prefer the dark hair which matches the comics too. She was a bit more menacing and better than Julie was in her Season 2 e...
