Re: A possible fourth season of Batman.

I would like to see more undercover work from Buzzy and Duke. And the Gorilla Boss of Gotham City. Perhaps Despero and Starro The Conquerer. Certainly the dastardly Ally Babble!!! If Robin goes to college, maybe Jimmy The Boy Wonder from Batman #50 can replace him. :D

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

Lord Death Man I just noticed your location. My mother was from Osaka. Amazing how the love of a 71 year old serial stretches across generations and even cultures! Osaka is about 15 minutes from Kyoto via Shinkansen. It is a wonderful city and an intriguing contrast to Kyoto. Yes, Batman is indeed ...

The cylinders are empty like they were in the serial, we used different colored tubes for each figure so they are all unique on the inside.

Ah, looking at it on the computer, I see now. On my phone it looked like there were little reddish items sticking out of the cylinders :D

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

Maniac Cop, I think that's a big reason why the 43 serial resonated with me as well. It seemed that if someone decided to dress up as a bat and fight crime in real life with a young boy at his side, it would look like that. That, and getting ahold of it was like finding a long sought after treasure....

Did one of the Superman serials also use different shades of brown for the costume? I think I read that in Filmfax but I am not sure.

Re: Would you have been a Bat-fan if the series had never ai

Batman was always an A-lister with the people that bought comic books, though (one of only three DC heroes to make it through the minefield of the 'Seduction of the Innocent' implosion), and his book was never in danger of being cancelled (although I believe Detective could have been reformatted or ...

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

Very nifty. I am always amazed at colors used in black and white shows to represent colors the camera sees. Light blue and grey, like the comics. Any idea about the colors of the second serial? I've only seen the figure in black and grey as shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdq4OCxaQ1U The ...

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

What is funny is that Columbia, who produced the serial with the anti-Japanese sentiment, is now a subsidiary of Japanese company Sony. But stranger is that Goodtimes changed the VO to be politically correct while Sony left the objectionable material intact. Maybe someone should bring up serial-base...

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

Lord Death Man, the '43 serial is my favorite take on Batman too. I sold my camera equipment as a teen in 1980 to buy a then very expensive VHS machine and a chained from film bootleg of the serial from my local comic shop. I paid $90 for a grainy sometimes dark and murky video and I loved every se...

Re: Would you have been a Bat-fan if the series had never ai

Very much so, as I first became a Batman fan as a teen when the 1989 movie came out. I was not introduced to the TV series until I met my husband a few years later. But I now much prefer the Batman TV show to the movies, although the serials are my favorites. I know that I have read in many books th...

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

That is a great figure. I love the box! For the ultimate in realism, are the Bat-shorts split up the sides? I also like how the gloves/shorts color does not quite match the cowl/cape just like the serial. I wish we would see a bit more merchandising from the serials. I know Batman Automobilia ...

Re: False Face: the creepiest villain

Wow! Did they give him some interesting backstory? 8-) The exact opposite. When Blaze entreats him to reveal at least part of his real name to her, he tells her he has no past, and that he is a question mark. I thought the last part was an amusing nod to the "?" given for the actor's scre...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You Acquired?

I was originally going to give this to my husband for his birthday in a couple of weeks, but since nothing says "I love you" like Batman stuff, I gave it to him for Valentine's Day (In Japan, women give gifts to men on Valentine's Day and men reciprocate on White Day in March). It is Mr. W...
