At that price, the upcoming model from Hot Toys doesn't seem so expensive! :D

Re: Julie Newmar on Stu's Show Jan 23

So, did anyone listen? If you missed it, the show can be downloaded at Stu's website. It was a great 2plus hours of interesting interview that covered Miss Newmar's career through Batman. As I predicted, she will make a return appearance at a later date to complete covering her career. I never met M...

Re: Julie Newmar on Stu's Show Jan 23

Stuart Shostak is a great interviewer, welcoming listener questions via email. His show is very much like the old David Susskind Shows in that it's scheduled to run two hours, but often runs into overtime. If he doesn't get to cover his guest's entire career, he will ask the guest back. So get ready...

Re: Where Was Gotham?

Good points by all linking Gotham to New York City. In fact, in Detective Comics 31, the fifth appearance of Batman, the opening panel refers to the dark of a New York City street. The first mention of the name Gotham City was not until Detective Comics 48. Here's something I found on the Huffington...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You Acquired?

I found this at Toys R Us in the Christmas section (I know, I know...) It's hard plastic I think, and about 3" tall. And you can stand it up. The hanging loop is attached to a little gold ring sticking out of Bat's head, which can be easily snipped off if you so desire. http://i1117.photobucket...

1966 Batman part of 2013 PBS Documentary

The PBS series Pioneers of Television returns in January 2013 with four new episodes. Of interest to those here is the third episode "Superheroes," profiling The Adventures of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, and The Greatest American Hero, and featuring interviews with...

There are others?

Seriously, the 1966 model influenced every car that followed for years, so I would have to go with it.

Re: Filmation Batman - 1968

This version (along with some remaining Superman episodes and the Superboy cartoons) is the last of the DC Filmations shows to get a DVD release. I'm guessing the 70s version saw release sooner because of Adam West and Burt Ward's voiceovers and therefore was the more marketable of the two Filmation...

Re: Looking for interviews with cast from 1966

Thanks for posting this link. I've heard the audio portion before, but seeing the video puts everything in a new light. As the Griffin estate would like to lease these clips, wouldn't they make a great DVD extra? (Are you listening, DVD people?) There should also be an interview with Yvonne Craig in...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You Acquired?

I'm very happy that I just acquired a 1960 Polar Lights Batmobile model kit. I had a lot of trouble trying to find one for the last few years to complete my Polar Lights Bat model collection. I will be painting it in metallic blue and put Bat-logo decals on the doors and trunk to make it closer to ...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You Acquired?

An old issue of ANNUAL NIGHTWING #2 with Batgirl and Robin on the cover. I really dislike that characters' background keep changing, whenever DC decides to revise the history of the universe. In the 70s when Dick Grayson was college he was dating Barbara Gordon who was a Congresswoman, in this issu...

Re: Joker's Moustache - To Airbrush Or Not To Airbrush?

Leave it alone. If and when we do have a DVD release, I want to see it as it was. A few years back,I bought the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition DVDs specifically to have the movies as they were released. I never watched the revised Lucas versions that were included.
