I agree with Jim Akin. ( Jamaican? I just got that!) I don't think that he was supposed to be a parody of anyone in particular (maybe in name only) but rather a chance to perform in full Fred Flintstone character as he did throughout his appearance so that he would be recognized.

I'm not a huge fan of cross-overs, tbh. Often you lose the charm of one (or both) of the "properties" involved. These are two very different shows that handle things in their own way. If you mush them together, you lose some of that and gain very little, IMO. I love seeing the art of stuf...
