Re: Script: THE CAT'S TALE, by Stephen Kandel

Guys? Do you know if there was an unpublished Catwoman script by Stanley Ralph Ross?

Re: FIRST LOOK: Rebekah Isaacs’ ARCHIE/BATMAN ’66 #4 Cover

[ why would a happening 'sixties chick' such as Catwoman have the slightest bit of interest in him? That's my question. "A happening sixties chick?" Oh. I haven't heard that saying in years. Maybe a happening sixties chick needed the emotional stability a square headed hero would bring? J...

Re: FIRST LOOK: Rebekah Isaacs’ ARCHIE/BATMAN ’66 #4 Cover

Plus the fact that Catwoman is in full costume, specifically, she is wearing her mask. If she was going straight then why wear the mask to class and then to the malt shoppe? The scenes with Catwoman pretending to go straight make Batman, the warden and the police look like complete fools. But then ...

Re: FIRST LOOK: Rebekah Isaacs’ ARCHIE/BATMAN ’66 #4 Cover

O.K. the Princess of Plunder sharing an ice cream with Batman is somewhat cringe worthy. Why I don't know? Well, first of all, it just looks juvenile. They're supposed to be adults, not teenagers. But sadly, that's how the romantic tension between Catwoman and Batman almost always was treated on th...

Re: FIRST LOOK: Rebekah Isaacs’ ARCHIE/BATMAN ’66 #4 Cover

Without spoiling it, I'll say that while the artwork is nice, the scene it riffs on is one of my most-hated scenes in the entire series. I know first-hand that writing isn't easy because it's how I've made my living, but I too have been disappointed not only with the tone of the '66 comics stories,...

I like it. I'll grant you it's a bit cringe worthy, but it got my attention.

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

I'm discovering tons of great material I missed back when I could only be bothered to read superheroes: Westerns like Doug Wildey's "Rio" and Joe Kubert's "Tex," even Dynamite's recent "Lone Ranger" title, old Marvel "Conan" books which somehow escaped me com...

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

I was talking with my 18 year old son the other day, who is an avid Flash fan and has amassed a ginormous comic book collection, about what he felt was the reason for all the violence, dark, gloomy areas our heroes have seemed to all come to. His answer? It's realistic. Hmmmm. So, holy social comme...

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

If comics are fun, great, I'm there. When they become politically-correct, adult, dark and overly violent in a mistaken attempt to try to gain "respect and sophistication" then count me out. You mean the same comic industry that in 1968 killed off the Doom Partol when they allowed themsel...

I think except for Jerry Lewis, which would require rights, they very well might release these. This is the best time for collections of vintage comics. I spend FAR more on collected editions of vintage stuff than I do anything modern.

Same here.

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

Don't know why today's artists have to gross out the audience. There should be more fun to the event, and all I can see is dark and gritty. THIS. Heaven forbid anything could be a ray of hope. Dark, dark, dark. I agree with the above. I've actually found I've pretty much pulled out of comic fandom....

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

I wrote to DC about releasing trade paperback collections of The Inferior Five, Jerry Lewis, more Sugar and Spike, Angel and the Ape, Anthro, and a few other series that had a bit of humor to them. I also mentioned that that they should bring back Batman 66 with a story where our beloved Bright Knig...

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

I wish they had more "fun" moments in this wedding scenario. It's still too dark, IMHO.

Re: Deanna Lund RIP

You know. I always thought she would have been perfect as Poison Ivy. That red hair of hers was simply beautiful. I know she didn't have much of an opportunity to act as the Riddler's moll, but I would have loved to have seen her do more. --jthree P.S. We all know John Astin is still alive, and perh...
