Re: Universal Antidote prop

The Bat-chewables are great! When Batman first aired, they were hocking Chocks chewable vitamins on every kiddie TV show (Captain Kangaroo, e.g.). Chocks were sweet and colorful but shaped like boring little blocks. Flintstones Chewables, a direct descendant of Chocks, didn't arrive until later (in ...

I'm pretty sure the guy you're looking for uses the message board handle "njboywonder." His profile indicates he was last active on the board in February 2022, so he's likely still around. I have no idea if he's still got Robin shirts, but sending him a PM couldn't hurt.

Congratulations all around, Ben! I hope your married life is happy, and that you're sporting your cowl in good health for many years to come. (On that note, may your COVID symptoms be mild and your recovery swift.)

Re: Visit Gotham City Beach Poster

Thanks for this! Whenever I rewatch that episode, I think how much I'd love to have a copy of that poster. Now that I do (or will, when I've printed it out), I need to find a suitable spot for it. :)

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #183: Bat-Costumes' Dynamic Duo: Chuck and Lynne Williams

I've had a really busy year, and I'm way behind on all podcast listening, including To The Batpoles. The timing was right to catch this installment right when it dropped, and I really enjoyed it. The description of the way Adam donned the cowl was new to me, and it would be very hard to put all the ...

Re: American Bandstand - Batman Promo - January 15th, 1966

That background music is from the Peter Gunn TV series soundtrack by Henry Mancini. Thanks for IDing the music source. I watched Peter Gunn for the first time when it was on Amazon Prime a few years ago. The music was great, but aside from the main theme I wouldn't have been able to spot it out of ...

Thanks for that. I think I've seen it before, but I can't recall when.

Dozier's narration is a hoot, but the placeholder music used in the presentation reel is a great reminder of how on-point Hefti's theme and Riddle's scores were. Anything else seems almost unnatural. :)

Eartha Kitt documentary short

"When the Government Tried—and Failed—to Silence Catwoman" is a more detailed take than I've seen before—in the participants' own voices—on an incident many of us likely know about, Eartha Kitt's confrontation of LBJ at a White House luncheon. The New Yorker put this together, and added so...

It doesn't sound to me like you quit your job; it sounds like you started a new one! :D Congratulations!

Change can be scary, but it can also bring growth. All of us cave-dwellers know you're a really talented, creative guy. Your new outfit is lucky to have you. All the best in this new adventure.

It recurred, but only once. :) The YouTube video contains both of MadTV's Catwoman sketches.

Fun side note: Phil Lamarr, who plays Andy in the first sketch, later provided the voice of Green Lantern in the the DCAU Justice League shows.

Re: Eartha Kitt's Catwoman crashes SNL

That was fun, but my favorite sketch-comedy take on Eartha's Catwoman is still Debra Wilson's, from MadTV back in the early 90s. The costume isn't as accurate as SNL's, but she nailed Eartha's purr.

Re: Adam West on Celebrity Bowling

I heard one of the commentators say something about Mayor Linseed and Wayne Manor during the game. The guy who made the comment was referring to himself as well as to Adam: Celebrity Bowling host Byron Keith played Mayor Linseed on Batman. Adam's non-acknowledgment of the remark, and absence of oth...

These are great! I'd say "incredible," but after all your previous creations, these are perfectly credible. :) I look forward to the big reveal at after bat-prop #66.
