Re: Workable Bat-Belt Pouches

I applaud the effort!! Wally had some nice plastic boxes vaccuformed a few years back. The problem with the plastic is managing the flex when you try and snap it closed. I used aluminum for mine back in the day for a nice firm box. Unless you make the lunch box sized boxes Adam West had on his "...

Re: Robin trunk material?

Polyester or acrylic can be dyed but not easily at home. I should have been more clear. Some dyehouses in the US will say they can dye the fibers but will only use products similar to idyepoly and deliver a pastel shade at best. To really dye the fabric properly takes some nasty chemicals that the s...

Re: Robin trunk material?

Of course it is!!!! The dyeable version that is. The fabric is called springweave and the old dyeable version made with cotton is like finding gold. It disappeared about 4 years ago. Don't be fooled by the easily available modern versions that look almost the same but are polyester or acrylic ...

Re: First Season Utility Belt

My pleasure Ken! Yep, check your pattern. All the measurements are there. This is the lightest belt I've ever made and it feels great when worn. I agree, with the other belts I'm always feeling like i have to wrestle with them. The velcro on the front of the trunks would be all you need to keep this...

Re: First Season Utility Belt

Hey Ken, Scott's correct. They are the same thickness as Marks original belt. Attached is a photo of them unpainted. As thin as they are, when it's all put together it still screams "UTILITY BELT" to me. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/clayslinger/P7280025b.jpg I've had the desire t...

First Season Utility Belt

Hi All, Thought I would kick off the new board with my new First Season Utility Belt! Not a true replica because I used my found brass receiver instead of the custom one. It's leather, wood, elastic and brass with metal tubes. Like the original it is not adjustable. The elastic is sewn on both ends. ...
