Re: The ME-TV BATMAN Episode Discussion Thread

Well we know one of the henchmen recovered and became a high school teacher. :) (Lloyd Haynes of "Room 222"). I thought in the pantheon of Tut henchmolls, Grace Lee Whitney was one of the stronger ones overall. The jealousy angle of her character toward Lee Meriwether as the object ofTut's...

Re: Cut/missing scenes from episodes

Few time ago I noticed about a scene cutted from the ´66 movie. After the kidnap of Kitka and Bruce, Robin calls to the Air Force to try intercept the flying umbrellas. But Joker evades the planes´ radar with metallic confetti. I think this action may have been highlighted a bit the Joker´s partici...

Re: RIP Lyn Peters (aka Lady Prudence)

I have long developed a theory of how there is something different about seeing people die who are forever preserved in the prime of their youth in vivid, bright HD quality color as opposed to the days when we would see the stars of the B/W era leave us. It was somehow more acceptable because they j...

Re: RIP Lyn Peters (aka Lady Prudence)

Always sad when news like this comes out. Condolences to her family.

Lyn was married to Paul Burke, the star of two classic 60s TV series, "Naked City" and "Twelve O'Clock High".

Re: The Jewel Of Crime/Batman's Just In Time

ANyway, back to the Jewel. This is a pic of Diana Dors. Doing further checking she was 5'6 but projected tall IMO. Eyes aren't right but could be fixed with contacts. Hopefully there are others from this era who can be considered as well since the creator should make the final decision on something ...

Re: The Jewel Of Crime/Batman's Just In Time

That's being pretty presumptuous on your part. A fanfic writer goes into a story hoping he can provide enjoyment for all fans, but it nonetheless has to represent his vision and story ideas that he's anxious to write about and not because someone else has pushed another vision on him. This thread wa...

Re: The Jewel Of Crime/Batman's Just In Time

Epaddon, just a suggestion. The Sea Hag was a 1966 Batman Topps Card Villainess. The front of these cards were the art work of Norman Saunders. This card, with Batman battling The Sea Hag on the front of it, is titled "Danger In The Depths." It is number 14a in the series. I'm aware of that....

Re: The Jewel Of Crime/Batman's Just In Time

She is tall, about 5'9, blonde hair with green eyes, about 27 years old, american girl from Irish decent( The Emerald Isle), most gorgeous, sharp, keeps her wits about her, agile, wily, clever, pretty independent, smart street and smart academically, has the best connections, vast knowledge of gems...

Re: The Jewel Of Crime/Batman's Just In Time

Excellent Story. I suggest The Sea Hag as the next Batman Villainess. Elmr, as one who has written my share of fanfic over the years, let me offer some gentle advice. Fanfic authors need the freedom to choose their own characters they want to develop and who they are specifically interested in writ...

Re: The Jewel Of Crime/Batman's Just In Time

Good job in capturing the sound of the series! It reads well. As for casting ideas from that era, I agree with High C that we'd need to know what hair color and other attributes you had in mind. With "hourglass" figure and European background, the only name I can think of off the top of my...

Re: Two Siren behind the scenes

Love the pose of the first pic. Very goddess like.

High C's fanfic is a nice amusing tale, rooted in a bit of reality about what happened during the actual shoot (per Adam's memoir).

Re: Batman Behind the Scenes

I couldn't help but chuckle at how Dozier talked of how hard it was to get old comic books for research because they cost "three to four dollars." Also, I think Dozier tipped the biggest flaw in his approach to the series by stressing too much the idea that the show was supposed to be funn...

Re: Your favorite Bat-Villain(ess) that never made the show

The stumbling block to Kaye though was that the final season of his variety show on CBS overlapped with Season 2, and by Season 3 the producers had abandoned all pretense of using established DC villains.

Re: Your favorite Bat-Villain(ess) that never made the show

The thing about Lee was that even though she was 41 at the time she still could pass for a decade younger, especially in a great guest shot on "The Big Valley" during this era. And yes, her "Peyton Place" stint as Stella Chernak may have been the best thing to come out of that se...
