Re: Official Notice - Titles and Links Requirements

Very good move, and I wish a few other boards I frequent would do the same. ;) I never saw the point in ambiguous thread titles, since you can roll the cursor over the title and the first sentence or so pops up. And as a rule I don't click or comment in threads with just a link, so as not to encoura...

4. It's been a long time since I read it, but I seem to recall Tommy Tedesco played guitar?

Re: Bat-upstaging

I've been going through some old episodes (I know, redundant since there aren't any new ones ;) ) and one thing that struck me that does give credence to Burt Ward's claims is comparing Adam West's scenes with molls and female villains. I have yet to see West stammer with his female co-stars the way...

Re: Aunt Harriet in the 1966 movie.

I always liked Madge Blake in both Batman and Leave it to Beaver. One of my favorite LITB episodes is where Larry Mondello throws his mother's money out the window and claims he found it, as it probably fell out of the pockets of pilot doing upside down tricks. ;) And Madge Blake was hysterical in ...

Re: Real Names

Surely, on that point about cheques, when the Penguin and Batman both ran for Mayor we should have heard their real names? The same when Batman was going to marry Marsha( no surname for her then either) Oh the out-there City of Gotham. At least it is safer than Cabot Cove! You never know in Gotham ...

The same way Batman (with one T) was going to endorse the ransom check for the maharajah. ;)

Re: Secondary Villains

I agree on Season Three - love it! And yes, Fred was superb.

Anna Gram definitely had some spunk and didn't fall in love with Batman. She'd have made a great villain.

Re: CLIFFHANGER!

Lots of great ones: Catwoman frying Batman and Robin on the rooftop. The sexual overtones were strong on this one. Penguin catapulting the Dynamic Duo across town with a camera strapped to them, watching as it happens. Zelda blindfolding Aunt Harriet and dangling her above a cauldron. I'm sure they ...

Re: Streaming service to stream 66Batman

It's the modern method of consuming music, television, movies. Personally I'm glad to have the DVD's. Been through some hurricanes in which there was no internet connection for a month afterward. I even suggested in the Bat-music thread that instead of a CD, perhaps the streaming route would be bett...

Re: "Myths" Surrounding The Show

I'm surprised that stereotypes like this are still common. A bodybuilder can quote Shakespeare just as well as anyone else. Maybe spend some time in your local gym. I think you'll find that many of the most muscular guys and gals are often doctors and lawyers who aren't lacking in the brains depart...

Re: "Myths" Surrounding The Show

I wouldn't describe Adam as having a "swimmer's body." Long legs and broad shoulders, sure. He wasn't particularly out of shape and he wasn't fat like the common jokes make him out to be, but he also wasn't "in extremely good physical shape" or "powerfully built" by an...

Re: Annoying words

I'm not annoyed by this phrase, just curious, as I hear it used in other shows of the time. It's obviously exited the lexicon, but I always wonder what 'tut tut' is meant to convey. " Tut-tut in British. (pronounced as alveolar clicks; spelling pron ˈtʌtˈtʌt ) exclamation. An exclamation of mi...

Re: "Myths" Surrounding The Show

Bruce Wayne was a millionaire philanthropist in his mid thirties. Even today when one can roid their way to an exaggerated body, it would look odd for someone in Wayne's position. And besides, we'd have to suspend our disbelief even further whenever a villain dressed up a henchman as Batman - or Alf...
