Re: MeTV Madness

I registered, if I have my way it'll be Batman Vs Svengoolie in the final, I'll be happy either way.

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

LDM
The cylinders are empty like they were in the serial, we used different colored tubes for each figure so they are all unique on the inside.

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

Mike Same thing that started my obsession. I read and loved that giant size Batman book, and when I got to the back and saw the photos of Wilson and Croft I was stunned! Thus was born an obsession to find that serial. A few years later when the first Burger King opened up in town they showed movies ...

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

As you would know Lord Death Man, dreams can come true!
;)
We are working with two different companies in the hopes we can clear the licensing and have both a 12" and a 8" figure.
My VHS copy used to white out for a minute every time the ray gun went off too.

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

Mike, you own the ONLY other figure of our current run of four, and yours is number one in the run. Lord Death Man, the '43 serial is my favorite take on Batman too. I sold my camera equipment as a teen in 1980 to buy a then very expensive VHS machine and a chained from film bootleg of the serial fr...

Re: Would you have been a Bat-fan if the series had never ai

Lord death man Julie Schwartz who was the editor brought in to revamp Batman in 1964 that BATMAN was never in danger of being cancelled but that Detective Comics was. The irony is DC Comics takes it's name from the title. Yes they are actually Detective Comics Comics. Even more interesting is the sa...

Re: Lewis Wilson BATMAN Fans?

The colors are based on Mr, Wilson's recollection.
There is a color photo of the cape that went up for auction a few years ago and I missed by one bid. It was a medium to light blue.

Re: Would you have been a Bat-fan if the series had never ai

I came to the comics from the show. Watched it in reruns, had my model Batmobile and my corgi, as I got a little older I started to notice the jokes and began to lose interest but then saw the dark and scary Batman, although not a psycho, and the horror elements appealed to me. These would be the co...

Re: What's the deal with 1966 Penguin?

I think Penguin's frequent appearances was absolutely tied to the friendship Meredith had developed with the producer's. I know he mentioned somewhere that he had a standing offer to appear on the show whenever he was in town and had time, they'd have a script waiting for him. Plus I think he liked ...

Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!

ALF appears to be released by Lions Gate, who like Paramount has a bad rep for releasing series. While I don't have ALF and I'm not interested in it, I do have THE ODD COUPLE and that has some editing that makes it less than a great set, but having said that, I'm still glad to have it since it's a s...

Re: Anyone ever hear from G dog?

I've heard from him and he's doing well. Along with Dave and Griff We had some lively discussions here on the board. I always hope that he'll make a reappearance here sometime, and I suspect he lurks, but maybe this thread brings our old friend back.

Re: Batman's utility belt referenced in a comic strip

In the 1949 Batman and Robin Serial the utility belt looked like it was made out of cloth with no pockets at all-- more like a thick Superman belt-- but this didn't stop Batman from pulling a full size blowtorch out of it when he needed it in one episode. The Keaton Batman seemed to have his grappli...

Re: The ME-TV BATMAN Episode Discussion Thread

I would find it hard to believe there were actual tigers under an actor in any series when you could accomplish the same effect without danger using film footage.

Actor's memories are sometimes peppered with imagination.
