Re: United Underworld Decal for McFarlane Villian's Lair Playset

Might I make a small suggestion? I'd advise going to a FedEx or other type of office supply store and use a laser printer. I've found that the colors are crisper and brighter than an inkjet. You'll need laser printer compatible decal paper but you can snag that easily. I tried recreating the old 70'...

Re: Mego 50th Anniversary-- The Return!

Robin was the first Mego I owned, followed by Batman. I first became aware of them by seeing a full page ad in Famous Monsters of Filmland. I think I purchased them at my local Ben Franklin 5 and 10 store. By the by, I found that if you took a twist tie and went around Robin at the wrists, his glove...

Re: Batgirl Movie Cancelled

What is being mentioned is that it was complete enough to show to preview audiences and the verdict was that it was unwatchable.

And wouldn't longer ears have been more likely to flop around during action sequences?

Re: Model Kit Help Needed

Yep, a light gray usually does the trick for me. It helps the paint stick better to the plastic and if you're using Squadron putty to even out seams between the pieces, it will even out the difference in color between the green putty and the original color of the plastic so you won't see those seams...

Re: Model Kit Help Needed

Jim, you might also want to wash the pieces in a gentle soapy wash to eliminate any mold release that might still be on the plastic pieces. Your paint will go on in a smoother coat. Also, I prefer acrylic paint as you can thin it with water to make it easier to brush onto the model. Take a quick loo...

Re: Need help: Archer's Curved Arrow prop question

I'll hazard a guess...The front of the shaft is flexible, you can see a break-line on the shaft in the picture. If they could run a very thin line from the tip of the arrow's shaft (where the arrowhead is placed) to the lever and if the lever was pulled back, it would pull on the line and bend the f...

Re: Batman Week on my blog.

Yep, the 1943 prototype's first show was to be called, "The Case of the Drowning Seal". If you have access to the Amazing World of DC Comics (Jan 1975) Batman issue, there's an article about this first attempt to bring Batman and Robin to the airwaves. It involves Nazis and the Flying Gray...

Re: Batman Week on my blog.

Great collection, Andy! I'm especially intrigued by your side link to old time radio shows, so I'm assuming you're a fan. Old radio shows are great to listen to. With that in mind, if you could have crafted a full-blown old time Batman radio show, what would it look (sound) like? Detective show? Adv...

Happy Burt-day!

76 years ago, Burt Gervis came into this world and would find himself cast as that young daredevil known as Robin, the Boy Wonder. Thanks to Mr. Ward for all of the great memories and best wishes to him on his special day!
