Re: Joker Movie Reveal

Looks scary, creepy and cool! Although it looks like they are doing an origin story and the Joker is one of the few characters better off without one.

Godzilla Visits The Batcave

Looks like Godzilla has entered the Batcave as he calls the military on the Batphone in the first Trendmasters toy commercial in this video. Must have been looking to absorb the radiation in the atomic pile :)

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #92: BATMANIA pt 2: Is nothing impossible?

One thing that Tim and Paul should seek out is the Adventures of Jerry Lewis comic #97. It is contemporary to the TV show (November 1966) and might be the best pop-culture examination of the real-life Batmania that hit the US in 1966-in my opinion, way better than the Mad magazine parody (although t...

Re: BATMAN Made in '43 Discovered in '65!

I bought both the 1943 and 1949 serials in 1989 (along with the 1966 TV show) on 'unofficial' VHS when I went to my first San Diego Comic Con (because I was so excited for the 1989 movie!). When I got home despite the 10 hour flight I watched both serials immediately, the 1949 one first. it was OK b...

Re: Batman's upcoming marriage?

I think the Earth-2 marriage of Batman and Catwoman was one of the best Batman stories I have read (I think it was in Brave & Bold 197), even though I usually dislike the Catwoman character across all media. It was so natural. It will be interesting to see if the marriage actually comes off. I r...

Re: "Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights"

Even now Mr. Ward is the master of hyperbole, based on the interviews he was giving for the new 1966 Batanimated movies. I remember reading that book when it first came out and it seemed he was trying very hard to upstage Adam West's book (which had come out about a year prior). And of course, Mr. W...

Re: Script: PLEASE OMIT TOMATOES (a.k.a. "Louie the Lilac")

Is "Please Omit Tomatoes pointing towards an acronym for pot (marijuana)? Given all the flower children in the actual episode it would not surprise me (I could not download the script to see if they were in the original).

Re: Batman Vs Godzilla Full Treatment?

If you PM me with an email, I can send you a PDF copy of the Dozier Batman/Godzilla treatment from the archives when I get home tonight. I tried adding the file here but it looks like you cannot add PDF's. I only have the PDF of Toho"s script. If anyone wants to download the description of the ...

Re: What all is there of the 60's Batman Series?

Since you mentioned the comics, I will add the Batman novel published in 1966-"Batman vs. Three Villains of Doom". There was also a novelization of the movie published in 1966. There is a treatment written by William Dozier for a proposed 'Batman Vs. Godzilla' film. There were a bunch of s...

Except they're not. Riddler was aghast. With Penguin it was more about thinking he had finally found a real friend after years of being hated by everyone.

Re: 1966 Theme Used On Gotham

Gotham is great. They have done so much with a concept I did not think much of at first, and I really enjoy seeing the backstories and character development, as well as how they have taken story ideas from over the entire history of Batman.

1966 Theme Used On Gotham

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but the latest episode of "Gotham" uses the 1966 theme. It is being played on stage by one of Batman's major foes (even though there is no real Batman yet) when he takes over a rock concert. You can hear it when a bunch of police cruisers show up ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #80: The ’66 Batman comic strip: Having it both ways

x.jpg Mr. Young, if you think volume 1 was bad, you should skip ahead to volume 3 where the Batman strip became a showcase for the 'hero' Galexo with B & R rarely appearing (more often as Bruce and Dick). Just goes to show the miracle of licensing problems ;) And yes, it is great to hear yourse...

Re: 8 Ft Inflatable 1966 Batmobile

There is also a 7 foot tall 1966 Classic Batman inflatable, although it appears to be the 1966 Comic Batman, not TV show.
