Re: The paintings in "The Clock King's Crazy Crimes"

I just rewatched "The Clock King Gets Crowned," and I'm pretty sure Leslie Thomas must've drawn the "Gotham City Plans & Views" images of the clock tower, blacksmith figure, and helipad that Batman & Robin refer to while researching Clock King's remark about "Mr. Smi...

Re: To the Batpoles podcast - The Clock King's Crazy Crimes

(I tried posting this in the comments section for the podcast, but I got an error message.) I enjoyed the podcast very much, particularly the footnotes on the title "Time Out of Joint" and the great observation that the Parkhurst Gallery's Pop Art exhibit didn't actually feature any pop ar...

Re: '66 Batmobile cameo in Dick Tracy strip

I was just thinking of Dick Tracy today, he actually has a few similarities to the Caped Crusader. ... They're both detectives. They both have an iconic look. They both have memorable villains. Tracy mainly fought "ordinary" racketeers and robbers in the early 30s, but his nemesis "T...

'66 Batmobile cameo in Dick Tracy strip

Longtime comic book artist Joe Staton has been drawing the Dick Tracy newspaper strip for several years, and he's had lots of fun dropping Easter Eggs from the world of superheroes into the (slightly) more realistic police saga. Today's strip features Tracy's just-in-time arrival by helicopter to th...

Re: '66 Style Two-Face Comic

It's based on an outline Ellison prepared for a never-produced two-part episode of the series. Veteran comics writer Len Wein (a close friend of Ellison) expanded it into a full story.

Re: BATMAN VILLAINS MARCH MADNESS ROUND TWO! FOUR VILLAIN MATCHUP!

The Archer-Minstrel matchup is a matter of choosing which character I like least (and voting for the other). Tricky, but if "my guy" loses, I won't really care. The Clock King-Mad Hatter contest will be the first where I'll be really torn, because I like both characters a lot. Cheers, QQ P...

Re: Holy Buzzfeed, Batman!

The article that contains the naughty words is about the Batlabels tumblr blog. The blog itself (which is great) has no offensive content; all it is is screencaps from the series that feature labeled items (from the Batcave, villains' lairs, etc). The captions simply repeat the words that appear on ...

"Next Week!" bumpers restored on Vudu

After I got the Blu-Rays in 2014, I set up the Vudu streaming account included with the purchase, but I only recently had a reason to use it -- for late-night entertainment during a business trip. I haven't watched many episodes, but I checked the final minutes of several, and it looks like the powe...

Re: BBC "Witness" radio program w/Deborah Dozier Potter

Thanks for sharing. I love "Witness," but from now on, I'll take the subjects' recollections with a grain of salt:

Ms. Potter's memories are often at odds with facts that are well-known even to non-fans, much less us obsessives here on the board. :)
