This was posted at another forum recently.

Here is a photo of Commissioner Gordon Neil Hamilton as Nick Carraway in the 1926 version of The Great Gatsby. He is to the far left.

Unfortunately, it is one of the many lost silent films Hamilton appeared in, although a trailer survives. Here is a link. He can be seen at :26 and :52 (to the far right.)
