Utility belt pouches in pilot ep.

Someone posted a screen shot from Hi Diddle Riddle in another thread, and I just noticed that the pouches on Batman's untility belt open from the top. Probably old news to you all around here, but I guess they decided to change them to open from the bottom after the pilot.

Sometimes they were the top opening ones,sometimes they had the bottom opening ones etc
But from what I gather, usually they weren't pouches at all but rather wood blocks painted yellow.

The top loader pouches were only in the pilot. The stunt pouches in the pilot were bottom loaders because it was easier for gravity to drop an item into one's hand rather than trying to dig a gloved finger into a thin pouch for something like a gas pellet on the bottom. They switched to bottom loaders for the rest of the show although the shape, style and construction varied slightly here and there over the series.

Does anyone know what happened to the original belt used in the pilot?

They were flipped over and cut to the rounded tab boxes.

When I was researching the Utility Belt, I noticed that all the rounded tabs had the edging detail of the top loading flap on each one.
