Those of us who grew up in the NY area have fond memories of the 4:30 Movie on WABC, channel 7. Here is an original 1978 promo for the 1966 Batman movie with voiceover from legendary announcer Scott Vincent. It utilizes footage from the original movie trailer.

NJ_Batfan, this is awesome! Takes me back to the good old days of channel 7 in Detroit after school with Monster Week, Apes Week, and best of all - Batman. What a living paradise TV was back in those days. When fantasy back then was more real and enjoyable then so-called "reality" shows now. When fun was more important than 'dark and gritty'. ABC Channel 7 specialty weeks - when life was just fun!

Having grown up just outside NY City I certainly remember the channel 7 (WABC) movies. Back in the 60's and well into the late 70's most local stations showed movies when their respective networks weren't airing their programming. I also remember channel 9's (WOR) million Dollar Movie that used the theme music from Gone With The Wind.

Interesting, the one star they didn't marquee was Frank Gorshin.
