Surf's Up Joker

Post by redbird »

Hello Batfans,
I am currently trying to find a good hi-res image of the image of the Joker's
face that was used on the TV series for his Surfboard..working on 1/6 scale version of
Cesar in the swim trunks with the surf board. I can see there is a face shot of him but it
not very clear to try and recreate. any help would be great.

Didn't Mattel's version come close?

Sorry but no...the Mattel version is the comic book version of the Joker from the early 60's..the tv show version looks more like an cartoon version of Cesar as the Joker.

Interesting. I'm not a collector, so I haven't followed this closely. I'd seen the Mattel "Surf's Up" figure, but not his surfboard. After making the effort to do a reasonably accurate sculpt of Cesar for the figure, it was an odd choice to use a comicbook illustration on the board, when that's so obviously not what was done on the series...

Cheers,

I agree with your evaluation...why go to the trouble to try and recreate a likeness to an actor in facial sculpt and clothing and miss on an illustration on the surfboard.
Epecially to someone who is a collector and looking for some exactness to detail.
