RIP Gary Owens

Post by Dr. Shimel »

Gary Owens, who was best known for his Laugh-In work, but made appearances on Batman, died at the age of 80.

He was in the second part of the False Face episode (which ironically is on tomorrow night), and also appeared (as a radio voice) in the S3 Penguin horse racing eps.

Gary Owens in "Holy Rat Race"...

Gary played this "same" role in many episodes of THE GREEN HORNET, as the newscaster for the TV station owned by The Daily Sentinel.

Didn't Mr. Owens even VOICE Batman in an episode of the '90's Batman cartoon? The episode had a group of kids talking about Batman and sharing stories about him. :)

Yes, episode "Legends of the Dark Knight" from THE NEW BATMAN ADVENTURES (1998), aka the spinoff/continuation of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES.

In the episode's segment paying tribute to the 1950s' comic book Batman, the animation designs were based on the artwork of Dick Sprang and his voice was done by Gary Owens.
