*Sprayed Penguin knock out gas
Penguin Gun
Handle Had a anti bug detector
Handle was hollow for paper
Boxing glove for the end
Tip had a knife at end
Tip could be used as a electric shock and stun effect

Penguin IIRC used sleeping gas more times than any other villain, but the umbrella was a tricky prop - it often threw sparks after the gas started flowing:
"To the medical eye, such childish claptrap means only one thing, young man: You need some sleep."

Yeah Adam West said in his autobiography that the umbrella props had a tendency to release the gas prematurely, late, or not at all, and it used to frustrate Burgess.

In The Sport of Penguins, it sprays sparks (like a Fourth of July sparkler, which is probably what was used) that dazzled our heroes long enough for him to escape the Gotham City Library.
