Why didn't I see this before?

Post by Batfan 66 »

Today I found out something that made me facepalm myself over and over again. Of course, you are all experienced and knowledgeable batboard members and batfans, so you knew...but here's my story:

Recently I found a movie I want to watch really bad, it's called Beach Blanket Bingo. I looked it up on Youtube and found a clip of a girl named Donna Loren singing It Only Hurts When I Cry, and instantly became a fan. She is amazing. Well...

Today (after watching a couple episodes including The Joker Goes to School and the following one), I went searching on the internet for some more fun 66 Bat-tidbits or pictures, and I came across this one Wikipedia article I had never seen, so I checked it out. I scroll down and hit The Joker Goes to School/He Meets His Match, the Grisly Ghoul, and am shocked at what I see...its talking about Donna Loren as the Joker's moll in that episode! How could I have missed that?!?

And why oh why didn't she get to sing? Leslie Gore got to...
Am I the only one or did anyone else miss this?
Do you guys have any facts, tidbits, stories, or pictures to throw in here?

Has the whole world gone batty!?!?

Plus, she had an album to plug.

I could never wear a skirt that short! LOL!

Honestly, she looked amazing in that outfit.

Although, the phrase 'wardrobe malfunction' springs to mind.

All I can say is "Good gravy!" Bet she was wearing that quality Mexican (or maybe the Canadian) perfume that the Joker gave her.

Keep in minds it's a cheerleader uniform with shorts underneath. (I think they are called spanx.)

They had spanx back then????

I thought it was a skort; skirt and shorts combined.

Mind you, I STILL wouldn't wear it; on account of my booty not being the best.

Donna and four other promising "newcomers" circa 1964. The one on the bottom right proved to be the most promising of them all! :)

Donna Loren was spokeswoman for Dr. Pepper and she also was in the rotating cast of house singers on "Shindig," the teen-oriented musical-showcase show that Batman replaced in ABC's Thursday night schedule in January 1966. Here's a clip of her doing a great cover version of "Shaking All Over," with help from the Shindig dancers: http://bit.ly/UFGPWo

You are not kidding! Her expression says it all--and separating herself from the "deb" look of the others.
