I ask myself that allllllllllllllllllll the time. I made a point long ago to only do this fandom stuff for free. Otherwise, it would feel like work which is never what I wanted it to become. Now it often feels like work AND I'm doing it for free, Lol!!

There is much love for you on this board Scott. Remember, Batman never gets paid either (although he is a multi-billionaire which probably makes the comparison unfair). I think Robin just does it for the chicks.
