A decade search for a Bat-Gif!
Nearly ten years ago (and way before watching actual videos online was feasible with our measly dial up connections) I had the idea that it would be cool if someone put together a rolling GIF image with all 120 episode title cards.
Fast forward to a world where we have station watermark-free Blu Rays, after a friend had meticulously screen captured the entire series, I decided to fulfill the fun/silly idea I had all of those years ago and create it myself.

Nice but I wish it cycled a tad slower

Tbh, I struggled with the "length" of the overall sequence versus the file size that most browsers will support when it comes to re-loading an animated GIF.clavierankh wrote:Nice but I wish it cycled a tad slower
I debated doing three separate images, one for each season, but there was just something about seeing all 120 titles whiz by that I couldn't resist given that's exactly what I had imagined all of those years ago.

Excellent, great stuff and GIF animation. Never thought of doing that!
Now on to the onomatopoeia's in blu-ray especially the 1st season where they are overlays on the actual scene!
This one is 2nd/3rd season grabs taken from old captures of mine.
I just can't see going thru the blu-ray's to get all these again, but if we get another 22" snowstorm who knows?? Not in chronological order, reduced in sized and optimized and they all might not be included? Just what I had in my screen grab folder on these.
What gif program/optimizer are you using as the file size usually is huge?

I've always enjoyed your GIFs amongst other awesome screen-capped contributions over the years, John!A. Pennyworth wrote:

I built this GIF in Photoshop CC using the script import process to turn each of the 120 screen caps into frames for an animation that I then outputted as a GIF. I did a lot of tinkering with the export options with a view to reducing the file size as much as possible but retaining decent "dither" percentage at the dimensions I wanted with just enough colors to keep it looking somewhere decent. I think I ended up with 64colors.

How can you make Gifs? Purely by using photoshop?

Sure thing! In this case, I made a seperate folder with the specific screen caps I had gathered to do this with. This is pretty handy tutorial which follows the same process I used... http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/how-t ... ick-tip-htBatfanRicky wrote:How can you make Gifs? Purely by using photoshop?
The same principals would apply with importing a video clip to create a GIF from, just keep an eye on your final output file size.
I'd love to see any other Bat-Gifs that people might concoct!
