Victor Lundin as Octopus

Post by redbird »

Question for you Bat-experts, because I am stumped. Why in "Fine Finny Fiends and Batman Makes the Scenes" season 1 episode 33/34, does Victor Lundin who played the henchmen Octopus for The Penguin, run around BAREFOOTED.
No shoes in his character....why?

I've never seen an octopus wearing them. ;)

I thought it was supposed to be part of his persona. He was always making these wavey tentacle like movements with his arms and hands, and I figured going barefoot he was probably wiggling his toes down there, too lol.

Not smart in a fight, you could get your foot stomped on.

After reading this thread yesterday, I passed a bald guy in a black sweater (that read "October"). I did a double-take and checked his feet, but he was wearing shoes.

I don't think the Dynamic Duo would have been that dirty, look how considerate they were to Bookworm's gang and their glasses?

But back to Octopus, he was a neat henchman, with his plan to open a school for pirates. You didn't normally get that kind of back story. He was also good in the fight, giving Robin a smack across the face - earning "WHAP", a brand new bat-fight word in the process - then wrapping both arms and one leg around him, living up to his name. Was that scripted, or a bit of ad-lib?

Penguin should have outfitted him with suction cups.

Creating one of Penguin's most eccentric G.O.O.N.s, "Octopus" (Victor Lundin). All I need to do tomorrow is reduce the size of the lettering on a photocopier and affix to the black sweater with double-sided tape. Hemming web was used on the sweater (made for 10-12" figures) to fit an 8" Lex Luthor figure. I have a black bowler hat ready for him..
