Classy guy! As a youth I remember watching Van and Bruce Lee as GH came on either right before or right after "Batman."
Godspeed!

Re: RIP Van Williams 1934 - 2016
I hate that we're losing so many of the entertainers from the 60s and 70s. I really enjoyed him on the Green Hornet. When I started watch GH in reruns, my mother told me that she enjoyed watching Mr. Williams on some of the detective shows he starred on in the late 50s/early 60s. She really enjoyed him in those.
I also thought he would have been a good light romantic comedy leading man. He was on a fourth season episode of the Beverly Hillbillies and was quite good on it.

Rest in peace, Van.
I started making another full pass through the Green Hornet show in line with it's fiftieth anniversary, my viewings here on in are in your honor now, Van.

Re: RIP Van Williams 1934 - 2016
He made a series called Westwinds in the 70's which ran on a station in re-run during the 90's. It was really good! Van Williams was fantastic. I remember seeing a pic of him and Adam West in a magazine hunting in Ketchum Idaho in the 90's. He mentioned that Adam lived in the "rich" area of Ketchum. Funny they both ended up near one another. Although often overshadowed by Bruce Lee who became a legend, Van Williams will be remembered for our lifetimes and probably beyond as the Green Hornet.

R.I.P. Mr. Williams. You and Bruce Lee are finally reunited in the great Black Beauty in the sky.
Here are some slate takes from the series to watch and remember them by.

And also The Green Hornet's appearance on the Milton Berle show.

I hear you...but its a reality fans of that era of TV have to accept..as sa and bitter a pill that is to swallow.gothosmansion wrote:I hate that we're losing so many of the entertainers from the 60s and 70s.
Agreed--he had the ability to move in that direction--possibly better in film than TV.I also thought he would have been a good light romantic comedy leading man.

Here's my memorial to Mr. WIlliams & a link to a fan-film that has recent footage of Van, assembled by NJ BatSquad Studios in tribute to, as Scott nailed it, one of the "good guys":
