Caged off area in Batcave
Hi everyone,
As well as being a big 66 Batman fan, I am a huge Lego fan.
I'm currently trying to make a decent go of a Lego Batcave and Wayne Manor (or at least the main part of it. You might be aware that Lego made a Batcave model already, but it just has a few main bits (Bat computer/reactor, Bat poles and a landing pad for the Batcopter (I know - it shouldn't even be there!).
I have acquired the pieces from 6 sets (by selling the figs and vehicles for almost the heavily discounted cost of the set for all but one set).
After studying pics of the Batcave very carefully, there's one area I don't know much about - what is the caged/gated area on the tunnel way out of the Batcave, between the filing cabinet/drawers and the TV monitor? I read the sign, but it is too blurry to make all of it out. It reads "Entrance to ____________ Center". Could someone tell me the blank word and what can be seen behind the bars?
Thanks!

I believe the sign on the gate reads ENTRANCE TO SUB-SUBTERRANEAN GROTTO. IIRC, there is just indication of an empty corridor behind the gate (Alfred has used it to leave the cave on his bike a few times). There are photos out there, but I am in my office and my books/reference are in another room...

The sign is pictured on Page 57 of the new "Batman: A Celebration of the Classic TV Series" book. And you are correct about the wording.
Note the double "Sub" ("Sub-Subterranean").
Note the double "Sub" ("Sub-Subterranean").
"You were right again, Batman. We might have been killed."
"Or worse. Let's go..."
"Or worse. Let's go..."

The door label was later changed to EMERGENCY BAT TUNNEL - you can see it when it was used in the S3 King Tut episode "I'll Be A Mummy's Uncle."

Re: Caged off area in Batcave
Thanks for all the replies - So I have 2 choices if I manage to get some glossy label paper to make signage to stick on a flat plate piece. My current build has a dead atea behind thete in which I have housed a pullout landing pad for the Batcopter, as Lego erroneously included it in the Batcave set.
There ate some considerations to make for scale on the whole thing as the reactor and Batmobile are out of scale (Batmobile looks huge inside the cave - so I might not put a turntable in as the turning circle will be too big for my base size constraints, as will the inclusion of a non-eorking elevator.
I will submit pics soon.

We see it return but never launch.clavierankh wrote:Looks like The Minstrel when Batman launched the Batdrone
Re: Caged off area in Batcave
I agree it's from the launch of the Batdrone and the Batdrone is used in the Minstrel episode but we don't see it launch. There must be another episode where it's used?

Here's a scap from the episode where it launches - still trying to find which one it is.

Didn't like the episode. Love the bars!!! Maybe originally, they had this in mind?Ben Bentley wrote:"The Great Train Robbery" - Season ThreeBatfanman wrote:Here's a scap from the episode where it launches - still trying to find which one it is.

That's not actual "Batman" concept art, but good! This is actual concept art.
