Does anyone know from where this picture originated?
Many of you may have seen this picture of Adam West back in full Batman attire. It appears to be a later in life picture. Or at least well past the 80s when he made his last public appearances in costume. Unfortunatly I am unable to pinpoint a source in order to properly date the photo. Does anyone know what it if from?

Of what photo are you speaking, Boss?

Huh? I though I pasted it on there. Oh, well, it's up on the OP now.

Wow - I feel like I won some contest - as I actually know the answer!
That photo was from the Adam West Remembers Batman magazine.
I looked at the old board history - and much to my surprise found a thread that I started about the photo!
And - the discussion was going on this same time in July six years ago!

Thanks Jim K, Bat fan! I checked out the link to the older site. I read two things of interest. First was that there were more pictures from the session. Does anyone have access to them?
Second was the mention of footage from a 1980s Kansas City appearance (presumably in costume). Does anyone have footage of this?

The photo session was orchestrated by a fellow board member here, so if there are more photos they would likely have them. I'll let them step forward if they want to.
The magazine itself is terrific, a lot of behind the scenes stuff, a very small fragment of what I got to see when I was with Adam in NYC and he let me pour through a box of photos he had from the show as we were trying to put together a new version of his Fan Newsletter. There is SO much stuff in his archives I hope that it gets made public sometime.

Re: Does anyone know from where this picture originated?
Hi...back in 1995 make-up artist David Miller and I got Adam to sit for a Cyber-scan of his head (much neater than the old-fashioned alginate and plaster bandage route). Once his lifecast was 3-D printed and cleaned up, David sculpted on a shell form to replicate the cowl. He made some shells from vaccu-form plastic and I began making a replica costume with the limited resource materials we had back in that day.
Ray Ferry, the publisher of "Famous Monsters of Filmland" magazine at the time, did a one-off magazine called "Adam West Remembers 30 Years of Batman" released in 1996. This was the centerfold of the magazine. There were many other photos Ray took during the session, but I believe he sold the negatives to a private collector and they most likely will never turn up. Come to think of it, they may have been in the Fred Westbrook estate, as he may have been the one who purchased them, and God knows where those ended up.
So this is probably the only shot we'll ever see from that session, unless some Bat-miracle happens.
Ahhh...those were the days.

WOW! That's awesome! Thanks A. Pennyworth! It also answers another question that I had concerning his cross armed pose in the centerfold. I had assumed that he stood that way to cover the bat logo on his chest for copywrite reasons seeing as how this took place after he was barred from wearing the costume.
Re: Does anyone know from where this picture originated?
I think he was just striking a pose that he had done over the years...
Re: Does anyone know from where this picture originated?
Here's the largest version of that photo I've ever stumbled across. (1025 x 1600) You may have to right click on the photo to get it to open in another window at that size.
Apologies, I'm too lazy to try to photoshop out the crease in the middle.

I'll take a whack at the real big one:
(Edit: Wasn't happy with the first try) A bat-bit better?
(Mods, if this is a no-no I'll pull it.)
