Bat Locations and Google Maps Streetview

Post by Scott Sebring »

Ben and I have done this sort of thing in the past during Skype discussions about Bat Locations. We'll jump over to Google Maps and Streetview the area. Usually, WB doesn't have many accessible parts to their backlot via Streetview but I stumbled upon this today and wanted to share. I'll share more links if I come across them and hope to see some of you share them as well. It's fun to get and idea of the locations in 360 access.

I'll start with this one:
Gotham Police Headquarters. You can even go up the steps. ;)

The window where Blaze jumps out of Commissioner Gordon's Office in "True or False Face." Is right next door as many other fun locations.

You're mainly standing in the street where they did the giant cookbook in the Bookworm episode as well for example.

How great is this? Thanks, Scott!

Although, knowing that there's nothing across from Headquarters and that Blaze teleported to a different window makes me sad, somehow.

I'll be ok...

The current gold trim is courtesy of the redress the facade received for the movie "Hail, Caesar!"

So cool that parts of the WB Backlot are now on Google Street view!

I'm having flashbacks to the hours we wasted combing Century City on street view... haha

But heck, I still love the Bat-Location stuff!

Here's another one to throw into the mix:

The Colonial home style building at the front of the Desilu Studios lot (now known as "The Culver Studios") is street facing. The lawn/steps area of the building were utilized in both S1's "Death in Slow Motion" and S3's "The Funny Feline Felonies"

Batman S03E17 - The Joke's On Catwoman - 0051.jpg
Unfortunately unlike most of the surrounding area, that specific stretch of Culver Bl hasn't been updated on Google Streetview since Aug 2007.

On a lateral note, it still breaks my heart that the 40 Acres Backlot is no more.
