The Dark Knight (as a '66 two-parter)

Post by Dan E Kool »

Hey, gang.

This is my attempt to rewrite Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight film from 2008 into a 1966 Two-parter staring Adam West and co. I'm uploading each episode in "parts" on my WordPress blog, linked down below. The project is still a work in progress, but let me know what you think so far!

Episode One, "A Night of Sleight"

1.) "A Hot Heist":

2.) "The Commissioner's Incredulous" :

3.) "The Caped Crusader - Corrupted?!" :

4.) "Deceived By The Devil's Disguise" :

5.) "An Unsettling Ultimatum" :

Your next Batman Story should have The Catwoman as Guest Villainess.

I don't know if there'll be another, good buddy. The future's uncertain, as Jim Morrison once said. Let's finish this one first. ;)

Enjoyed your re-imagining of this story so far, really interested to read the rest ;)

I remember being sat in the theater and my friend Matt and I looking at each other, silently geeking during that early bank heist scene as Ledger's Joker peeled back his "Opera" clown mask.

I had the same reaction, but in reverse order. When I rewatched the series on YouTube it was that scene and also Dozier's narration in (I think) Episode 3 or 4 - "IS IT ALWAYS DARKEST JUST BEFORE THE DAWN?!" - where I was like, OK , I see you, Christopher Nolan. I dig stuff like that.

Thanks for reading it, RBB! 8-)

Here's "Part 4 ." The Dynamic Duo arrives at Police HQ:

Off Topic
Chief O’Hara and the Commissioner look nervous, Batman thinks, expertly reading their body language. Gordon and O’Hara are already standing. The Commissioner leans against the polished wooden top of his desk and the Chief has isolated himself by the window with his hands buried deep in his trouser pockets. Chief O’Hara’s peaked cap is drawn down over the creases in his brow and his head is tucked between his shoulders like a turtle retreated into its shell. A morning dew of sweat covers O’Hara’s fleshy nose and glistens in the beam of sunlight that pierces the window shade. Although that sweat could be a symptom of the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been experiencing as of late, the Crusader reasons. Recalling what the Commissioner said in his phone call, Batman racks his brain for what this could all be about. There’s really only one possible explanation, but it’s too wild to even consider. Or is it?

Thanks again, Elmrgraham! :D

I edited the original post so that it's easier to just get into the links without scrolling through that wall of text. If anyone wants to read the description that was there before for any reason, I have that on the "About" page on the blog.

Here's the next part, where we see the Joker in his hideout...
Part 5: "An Unsettling Ultimatum":
https://brightknight66.wordpress.com/20 ... ultimatum/
The Joker sweeps his hand toward the center of the room where a tarp is draped over the crook’s spoils. That’s Heath’s cue. The thug pulls down on a tattered line, slowly hoisting the cover up to the ceiling with a grunt. The pulleys creak and the Joker cracks up and the mountain of money is the most beautiful thing Old Moe has ever seen. Peeking out from under the tarp is a pile of cash which must be well over six feet tall and worth millions. It is, perhaps, the heist of both men’s criminal careers.
