HOLY SIGHTSEEING! Take a Modern Tour of 1966 GOTHAM CITY

Post by Dan Greenfield »

Hey, Batfolks:

Here's our latest BATMAN '66 WEEK feature at 13th Dimension. Check out the sets and locations that still stand tall — more than 50 years later. You can even bring Batman and Robin along -- like we did!

Dig it, Batfans:

No doubt about it, for me the best part (the most moving) would be police headquarters. Great stuff, great pics.

Agree! My heart almost stopped when the Warner Bros' Studio Executive tour shuttle jiggled past the Gotham City Police Headquarters in January 2013 but, because I was with a former employee of the studio, we were able to slip back afterwards and pose on the steps for better pics!

The current gold trim on more recent fan pics are courtesy of the changes made for "Hail Cesar!". Here's a still from the movie:

BTW, I loved spotting this doorway on a rerun of "Charlie's Angels"!

The HD of the Blu-Ray sets allows signage, that went completely unnoticed on broadcast TV, to really throw up some bloopers! From "The Ogg Couple" episode of "Batman", which features "Los Angeles County" signage on a Gotham City museum:

A few days before my Warner Bros. adventure, I was taken to the Batcave, using directions I downloaded from a fan's website:

The Batcave has several back entrances. And this view!
