I thought the pitch sounded a little high...i downloaded it to my computer and lowered the pitch via the very unsophisticated controls of the quicktime player and it sounded more like Adam's normal voice.
"PAL speedup", perhaps?

First thing I noticed, too - have to see if I can correct it in Vegas Movie Studio.
Love at the end how Adam and the kid are waiting and waiting for the director to say "Cut!"

ETA: OK, I pulled the sound from the video and lowered the pitch, which extended the length from 1:10.530 to 1:15.382, and Adam's voice sounds way better. Now let's see what I can do with slowing the film and re-synching it to the audio... What's fun is that Adam's delivery is just as tongue-in-cheek as it always was on the show!

ETA 2: Running the finished project through Movie Studio now - it'll take half an hour to render on this old computer, then I'll try posting it on YT - fingers crossed it works OK!

I suspect the long silent ending was intended for a voice-over announcement.

In his book, Adam mentioned that he filmed a spot because British kids were jumping from windows, trying to be 'Batman'. Has this ever surfaced?

Scott pointed out to me that the captions on Getty's images state 6th May 1967 as the actual shoot date which makes a lot more sense given the gap between wrapping S2 in Feb/March and the S3 shooting commencing in early July.

You are correct, Sir! Here's Adam wearing the same cowl as we see in the "Kerb Drill" film in season two's finale, "Ice Spy".

Why was the cowl modified that late in the season?

It can't be May 6. He was at the Vatican meeting the Pope on that date. Going by this clipping in Variety, it was probably shot on May 7.

Probably was the 7th. I was merely pointing out that the Getty images and some other sources listed it happening in May and not August.

Nice find on the cowl pic Ben.
Great job Chris, the video is so much better now.
I love this thread, it is almost like we found a lost episode.

Does anyone know why the cowl was changed near the end of season 2?
