An impor-TUT discovery!

Post by wally wingert »

The other day at the Hollywood Museum, they let my effects guy Jim Ojala and I inspect the Victor Buono displays in the "Planet of the Apes" exhibit. When we removed the mutant prosthetic...who do you think we found underneath???

On the back of one of the busts, someone had written "Victor Bruno." D'OH!

That looks like its from Beneath the Planet of the Apes, 1970, the second movie. Looks like he was one of the humans driven underground. That's a neat find.Image

Please tell me you are casting that bust for a Tut display at the museum?
Although they appeared to be very frail, those latex pieces seem to have held up pretty well. At least the color and texture.

Foam latex that old would have been much too brittle to remove. Luckily Jim said it was some sort of urethane.

Would be fun to have that Victor Buono bust and display it next to Chuck's Adam West bust... Now to find a King Tut headdress ;)

And on the front of the first bust, it looks like someone wrote "Victor Buona" .
