Holy viewing party! VBC - Sunday 10th May

Post by Ben Bentley »

This week's Video Bat-Chat is going to be a little different... we're going to have a watch-along viewing party!

Following on from the discussion we had during last week's Video Bat-Chat sesssion we've decided to do a trial run of watching an episode together and then having a good ole chat about it.

So how will the viewing party work and how will we select an episode?

On a practical level it will function just like a normal VBC call - people will join the group call via the Skype link I post on the day in this thread and once within the call we will use a random number generator to select an episode. I will then provide a link in the chat window of the VBC call that will allow everyone to watch the episode selected. No Blu Rays or Streaming Services required, everything needed is free and will be provided within the normal VBC Skype call.

Watching the show with other fans is always a ton of fun and Scott and I are looking forward to it!

Sunday 10th May, 2020

12PM PDT / 3PM EDT / 8PM BST / 5AM AEDT

Great idea!

I have a family gathering at my sister's for Mother's Day (socially distanced, of course) that conflicts. Hopefully one of my favorite episodes isn't selected, and I can catch the next episode viewing.

Thanks!

I'm curious what episode got selected.

Hopefully not anything from Season 3, without me there to defend it, as I'm a fan. ;)

Thanks!

Love those episodes, too.

In fact, one of my favorite lines is in the 2nd part, when Riddler can't find the sarcophagus.

"Gee, boss. I don't even know what an esophagus looks like." ;)

One thing I noticed in the episode was the Riddler grabs a broadsword off the wall and swings it at Batman. Robin yells watch out or something and Batman jumps clear. The sword hits a cardboard box and bounces off. Now a broadsword can practically cut a man in two with a solid hit, but apparently can't cut through cardboard?
