Fifty-five years ago this very night...
Fifty-five years ago this very night, pop-culture changed forever and has continued to serve smiles around the world.
Happy Birthday to the show that brought me so much joy and taught me so much as a child but has continued to enrich my life with friends and experiences as an adult that I could never have dreamed of.
Why not come and celebrate the show's anniversary with us during our first Video Bat-Chat of the year, where we'll be doing a Viewing Party of "Hi Diddle Riddle/Smack In The Middle". It's always a ton of fun watching episodes with other fans and hearing people's observations along the way!
All the timings and info on how to participate can be found in this week's VBC thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7688
In the meantime, here's a few of my favourite behind the scenes images from the Pilot that started it all...

Batfanman's post brings up a good question, where was the Batcave entrance located with respect to Wayne Manor? Was it behind the manor? That would make the most sense to me as one would think Aunt Harriet would have spotted it while gardening if they came out the front.
And how far away was it supposed to be?
And just once they should have had the Bat-Traffic Detector go off and warn them that they had to wait in the Batcave so the road was clear when they pulled out of the Batcave.

Wow, great pix, Ben!!
Robin's first onscreen lines: 'Wowie, zowie.' At least that's what I remember. I was only a year old at the time...

It would have been behind the manor and a bit right. The backside of this estate does not resemble the front side completely. It has only 1 pitched gable roof instead of the 2 depicted in front. Whereas there are no known pictures of this side, no attempt was made to create this and it was decided that the familiar would be the best choice to create the inference of the fantasy.dell wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 10:53 am Batfanman's post brings up a good question, where was the Batcave entrance located with respect to Wayne Manor?
