rare pic or not ?
...been a '66 Bat-Fan for more than 50 years and have never seen this pic before....was it a part of the other red background publicity pictures that I have seen ?

I don’t think I’ve seen it before either. Probably the closest Adam ever came to looking like the Dark Knight.

Re: rare pic or not ?
Here's the variant I've had available over on my Batfriend.com site for over 15 years in the Batman gallery. Sad that FLASH is no longer supported so that site is currently no longer accessible with it's current interface. I'll need to resurrect it sometime again. But it doesn't look like anybody has checked it out in ages.
And this one was kicking about in a folder that looks like I picked up in 2008. Apparently, it was shared on the board back then but the board went through a software change in 2012 and those posts are long gone.

You're all over it, A. Pennyworth! I was just about to post the last two that you did. Lol!
As for the shoot itself, there are plenty of yellow background shots with the same utility belt, tunic and cowl (that's the real tell tale) as these red ones.
Not in color, but same session. I'm sure A. Pennyworth can provide more.

Cool pic but let's stick with subject matter/session of the original post.
Found this in my folders. A little better version of the one A. Pennyworth posted earlier.
Re: rare pic or not ?
The utility belt pouches are a good indicator of timing of the photos. Pre-production, early season one, rest of series.
I wonder what that floodlight/bullhorn was supposed to represent. My favorite shots have that Dark Knight aspect, or show how thin he really was, like the cover in the TV guide.

Some days you just can't get rid of a ... SHARK!
