Promo shots of Linda Gaye Scott for Riddler episode

Post by dell »

For fun I did an internet search for Linda Gaye Scott & Batman (Linda played Moth on several Riddler episodes) and was surprised at how many photos came up. Quite a few what were clearly promo stills for the show, several with Frank Gorshin hamming it up.

What I wouldn’t give to have those in full color.

Speaking of Moth, anyone know if anyone’s ever done a cosplay of her? Wouldn’t be too hard to repurpose a Batgirl costume to do it.

Getty Archive has a bunch of shots here, including this one:

Full color would be great, but back then, newspapers only ran photos as black and white halftones, so it made sense to issue publicity pics in B&W.

Did her purple body suit become a part of the Batgirl costume? Or maybe just the same pattern/fabric?

Thanks to dell for noting and posting this, and as Jim said, it was pointless (and more expensive) to shoot a ton of color photos back in those days when newspapers didn't print in color.

In fact, one newspaper ran an image of Frank and Linda and noted it was Riddler with a 'deluded girl.' ;)

Moth's suit was a similar stretch-lamé fabric but it was not reworked into Yvonne's costume.

Thanks. I was always curious about that.

But a similar pattern, no? I am no expert but It looks like it is cut on the bias.

And THAT suit in the GIF was NOT cut on the bias. They did that after this was shot along with other alterations. ;)
