On-set report by Dwight Newton (Dec. 23 '65)

Post by Mr. Glee »

Apologies in advance if this clipping has already been seen around these parts; TV columnist Dwight Newton visited the set during the shooting of the first "Mr. Freeze" episode, and his report was fairly interesting (don't think I'd ever heard before that Maurice Evans turned down the part of Mr. Freeze, for example):

Very cool (no pun intended)!

Dwight certainly cared about accuracy; “Allen Napier”? Holy lack of editorial input.

Thanks for posting this! I wish he had said it was Dozier or Horwitz who was the source for the Maurice Evans info, but that still is fascinating. I have no reason not to believe it.
